The concept and the plot lines were funny and unique. The contrast between the working family and the ultra rich one, the ending where she chooses to have a life where she makes a difference instead of just wasting time, and he values her as she deserves to be valued in the end. There are parts of the movie that could have been better; some of the supporting roles were not done all that well. The rich woman's mother was great, Roddy McDowell was great, and the rich self-centered husband was funny. The movie was good family entertainment. Good for you, Goldie and Kurt.

This is one of my favourite films. The cast are obviously enjoying being in it as well which makes it nice to watch. There's some wonderful barbed dialogue and the performances are (while maybe a little broad at times) excellent. The reason this gets 4 stars and not 5 is the DVD itself.
It's only a bare bones release. There are a lot of deleted scenes from the film (including an entire subplot featuring Tracey Ullmann) that were cut out! In fact if you look up the trailer (youtube etc) for the film some of these scenes can be seen. Making it extremely frustrating that they are not included here.
In this world of "Special Editions" and constantly repackaged DVD's can't somebody at the marketing department suggest a re ... Read More:

Release Date June 28, 1999
The service comedy is a genre almost as old as cinema itself and, whether it's Charlie Chaplin or Victor McLaglen and Edmund Lowe in the trenches, Andy Griffith befuddling his sergeants, the Carry On team on the assault course or Steve Guttenberg and co at the Police Academy, has an almost immutable formula that is never, ever departed from: through mildly comic misadventure misfit(s) find themselves in the army/navy/air force/police force, are hopelessly unprepared for the harsh realities of basic training, fumble every task yet somehow come out of it all as the perfect soldier/sailor/airman/cop and prove themselves in a mildly comic baptism of fire. Private Benjamin does absolutely nothing to fix what ain't broke, contenting itself to offer the ... Read More:

I added this film to my love film list after realising I hadn't actually seen that many Woody Allen films. Since I have a pretty extensive film collection and am a complete movie addict, I thought that was an error that needed rectifying :)
As a modern musical I was fully prepared that I might not like this film, but I absolutely adored it. It's a wonderful concoction of love, romance, quirkiness, whimsy and theatrical numbers.
The film stars Goldie Hawn, Alan Alda, Ed Norton, Drew Barrymore, Natasha Lyonne, Natalie Portman, Julia Roberts, Tim Roth & Woody Allen. It follows the path of one family (a quite rich liberal New York family) over the course of a year. The loves, the losses, the crushes, and the mistakes they make ... Read More:

THis film was released shortly after the super success of Lethal Weapon 2 and looking at the trailer with its action sequences, one would expect traces of Mel Gibson's 'Riggs' portrayal. Quite the opposite ! This is an all out and out comedy and the pairing of Gibson and Goldie Hawn works wonders. This is what saves this fairly predictable film. The dialogues are corny but then with such a pairing, it works fine. 'The climatic scene ruins the film and could have well been edited. Better still watch this 110 minute film and once you reach 100 minutes; press the eject button.

This is a great situation comedy. Chevy Chase (Nicholas 'Nick' J. Gardenia) is forced to be part of a bank robbery. Goldie Hawn (Glenda Gardenia Parks) who is an attorney who defends everything from wayward Indians to lost dogs is Nick's ex and must convince him to turn his self in. Charles Grodin (Ira J. Parks), Glenda's present husband, is the district attorney. Nick serves Ira and the governor chicken pepperoni. Well you get the idea.

These three movies define Goldie Hawn at her very best! All three were released in the early - mid-90's and showpiece her talents against some of Hollywoods leading names including Mel Gibson and Meryl Streep!
Death Becomes Her
A wonderfully dry, yet classy comedy, pitting Goldie's character against Meryl Streep's bitter, fading Hollywood starlet for the affections of Bruce Willis. Although some of the CGI looks abit dated now, at the time it was cutting age and the gags come quick and easy at the two female leads wage war with crazy-funny results!
Bird On A Wire
Goldie gets dragged in to the life of 'witness relocation' former-lover Mel Gibson in this high speed comedy-adventure. Great one-liners and Goldie's wonderfully helpless ... Read More:

WILDCATS was a funny and entertaining comedy with Goldie Hawn at the top of her form as a high school track coach, who wants more than anything to coach football (her late father was a football coach). She finally gets the opportunity to coach a high school football team at a tough inner city high school where the majority of the students are Africa American or Latino. Of course, Goldie's Molly McGrath meets the obvious resentments from high school boys that you would expect finding out their new coach is a woman, but she does eventually win them over, even at the risk of losing custody of her two daughters to her uptight ex-husband (James Keach). Nothing new or inventive here but Goldie lights up the screen presenting a smart yet flawed character trying to live her dream. ... Read More:
