Judy Garland Signature Collection - A Star Is Born / Love Finds Andy Hardy / Ziegfeld Girl / For Me And My Gal / Harvey Girls / In The Good Old Summertime

Release Date June 19, 2006
No complaints with the films themselves but the DVDs have no options on them other than PLAY and SUBTITLES - they are not divided into chapters so you cannot go directly to the musical numbers like most classic musical DVDs. This is a pity as both my 8 yr old girl and 3 yr old boy love watching the music and dancing but some parts of these films are not suitable for young children (eg. the fighting, guns, and fire scenes in The Harvey Girls and the WW1 scenes in For Me and My Gal.)

Now, being a person who suffers from Aspergers Syndrome (usually a mild form of autism but there are different levels of, like autism itself, Aspergers.) I for one am on the higher achiever end but have mixed with people like the character of Raymond from the film and I have to say that this is one of my personal favourites as the characters are nicely developed and underplayed. All the actors are excellent in their roles and Tom Cruise, for once, doesn't try to steal the show, neither does the woman who plays his girlfriend. The person who especially makes this film a masterpiece is Dustin Hoffman for his portrayal of Raymond, who suffers from severe autism.

The plotline sees arrogant car dealer Charlie Babbett (Cruise) discover that ... Read More:
