A fantastic film, very well acted and the rape scene is one I shall never forget, it just made me cringe and that probably meant how realistic it actually looked! It is said that Jodie Foster actually passed out when filming that scene and I'm sure it was very difficult for the male actors to play their parts, but nevertheless an important film showing just how horrific these acts are.
Jodie Foster was amazing in it and well deserved her oscar!

Paramount's Blu-ray disc of Top Gun is clean and crisp, getting the most out of John Schwartzman's slick cinematography. The disc is liberally slathered with DS and 5.1 options in English, French and Spanish. Savant's viewing reminded him very much of the original multi-track experience, which definitely had the audience in its pocket.

Jerry Bruckheimer gathers his director Scott, writer Epps and some military experts for the commentary, while a multi-part docu Danger Zone covers the making of the film. Tony Scott provides an optional commentary for a storyboard comparison, and an extra docu The Best of The Best lauds the expertise of the Navy's elite fliers, excuse me, aviators.

Witness [1985]

Inventive thriller which chooses a great setting and character type to give a much needed shot of originality to a crammed genre. Ford is a great choice to play the hard cop with a soft heart and McGillis is perfection as her character. There's chemistry there too. Doesn't try to be too spectacular but instead remembers the quiet dignity of its hosts, and makes great use of this. Interweaved a good little thriller around them, and Ford's compassion for his new friends sets the seal on a class thriller.

I remember seeing this film about [...]and being blown away by the aviation photography. I came home last friday evening and found out that that there was a special edition of the film that had been made. After watching modern and boring films I thought 'Ok, I have to order Topgun from amazon'. I put it on my widescreen mac with full volume and after just 10 minuites of seeing the planes, acting and hearing the music I just thought 'Wow, what an amazing classic'. This has to be one of the best 80's films ever made and Tom Cruise portrays an extremely cool and legendary character. He's top stuff in this movie. The concept of the top 1% of fighter pilots going up against the best of the best to learn aviation combat is just so amazing which you don't see in films ... Read More:
