Battlestar Galactica 1980 is for anyone who likes watching nice "Saturday morning" films that are good fun and have nice people in them. There is a lot of very intelligent dry humour in this series pulled off brilliantly by the lead actors. There are also some very moving parts: the truly beauteous song that the children sing, and a few minutes of the "Space Croppers" episode where we see a time animated sequence of crops growing to the accompaniment of the most joyful little synthesizer melody that must surely bring a tear to the eye of even the most hardened viewer.

I bought this for our UK Playstation 3 simply because it gets good write-ups for the hi-def transfer and I like the theme song, although I'd never seen it before. It turned out to be one of the most enjoyable films I've seen in a long time. The colours are bright and cheerful, most of the songs are catchy and Ann-Margret is just great to watch. What I like most is that she really seems to be enjoying herself throughout the film, particularly in the dance scenes. My favourite scene was the What'd I Say routine, where Ann-Margret just seems to be having a whale of a time. We watched the film in 1080i and were very impressed, especially in the close-ups. Seaquest DSV all three Seasons are fantastic. Seaquest is one of my MOST favourite T.V Shows of All Time. I've seen all three seasons manytimes on T.V and I'm starting to buy them on DVD. I've got season 1 and I intend to buy Season 2 soon and I can't wait to buy Season 2, so that I can watch it again xxxxx

Predator 2 [1990]

This could have been a worthy follow up to the now action classic Predator, but fails on many fronts. The acting, apart from Danny Glover who does a reasonable job of filling Arnie's shoes, is pretty awful at times and over the top. The dialogue is equally unconvincing. The film lacks the atmosphere and suspense of the original, despite the effective soundtrack of the talented Alan Silvestri. The second half of the film is certainly more exciting and watchable, but ultimately you are left feeling short changed. Had John McTiernan directed it again, and with better script writers and actors, this could have been a much better film.

RETURN OF THE LIVING DEAD 3 surely beats the lame first two parts of the series and ranks high as one of the best zombie films ever made - at least in my opinion. And that is because it's DIFFERENT. One of its taglines was "Romeo and Juliette meet the Living Dead" and that's exactly what it is. It's not a shocking movie - although ultra gory with GREAT SFX - combining comedy and horror and it cannot be taken seriously at all.
