I first saw this film while in The States a few years ago. When i did track down a copy i wasn't disapointed as i remembered. This is a chick flick film, but saying that my husband did enjoy it to. Its a romantic story where a single man ( Kevin Costner ) who lives near to his father ( Paul Newman )falls in love again.

Frank Farmer (Kevin Costner) is an experienced Body Guard with a bit of history who is reluctant at first to take on the role of protecting Rachel Marron(Whitney Houston) a pop superstar who is getting death threat letters....Houston plays the difficult spoilt childish brat whilst Costner plays the cool I know what I am doing bodyguard...Whilst the film may have a lot of cliches, it certainly gels together well especially as the relationship develops between Costner and Houston.....No one would have denied the quality of the soundtrack at the time it was made and certainly Houston's version of "I will always love you" stands out more than most...This is a pleasant film with action, music, drama and above all a performance by Costner very alike to the ... Let's be honest, modern adaptations of old folk tales in Hollywood equal ugly twists. However, this movie was surprisingly funny, clever and just plain entertaining! The twists means that our Robin (Costner) is actually an international prisoner before he rushes back to England to be in tights. His stint doesn't go down well with him and he ends up picking up a Moor (Freeman)along the way. They waddle back to England only to find Robin's land seized by the Sherriff (Rickman) due to serious religious accusations. Now with a fresh aim in mind (to get back land & win Marian's love/support somehow) the Moor and Robin set out the Merry Men. And boy do they find them! There is much fun, laughter, and merry making particularly on the part of the Moor (played brilliantly ... Read More:

I Dont normally go for Water movies, I Wouldnt of botherd with this one unless a cousin recomended it, But what a brilliant movie, had me hooked from beginning to end, the End made me go cold, especially when the last guy you see rescued says that he was with someone the whole time, "He never let go" you have to watch the movie or have already seen it to know what I Mean there, The Guardian of the sea,
Ive always liked Ashton kutcher, being a fan of that 70s show, and loving the butterfly effect, but this performance couldnt be any further from the dumb idiot guy from that 70s show, its a Masterful performance, and this guy deserves to be a Big star, Im sure he will, Superb stuff!

Thirteen Days tells the story of the two weeks when the world came closest to Mutually Assured Destruction in the autumn of 1962 when the Soviet Union established missiles in Cuba. As historical films go this is one of the more thoughtful. Kennedy is presented in a sympathetic light placating the 'hawks' in the military who were determined to bomb the Russian missile sites and invade Cuba, as well as rising to Khruschev's test of will. In essence this was the purpose of Khruschev's strategy to test the young American President who had undermined his authority with the Bay of Pigs fiasco. Like most historical films accuracy is an issue and once you get past the dodgy Boston Irish-American accents, then it is possible to enjoy this political, military and diplomatic drama. Ultimately the ... Read More:

I watched this on Sky last night, after reading the description I was expecting an 'American Psycho' style film. After watching it I can say in my opinion it is far inferior. Wisely the filmakers didn't follow that path to the letter because that would have been foolish. I just think the film would have been better without some of the unfeasible sub plot. Why for instance is there a parallel story involving another killer? He kidnaps Demi Moore midway through, then he bumps into her near the end and ends up killing himself. What was the point of having that in the film? It did nothing for the main story whatsoever. The bit about his daughter possibly being a serial killer was also absurd, as was the photographer asking Mr Brooks to teach him to kill rather than taking the incriminating photos to the police. ... Kevin Costner has always been one of those actors you either love or hate, much like the singing and celebrity of Victoria Beckham or Marmite.
It is unfortunate then, that it is these personal feelings which cloud judgement about whether or not to see a film. Because, in a time when the idea of race relations is once again at the forefront of the news, this simple story of a man open to change can tell us a lot.
Lt John Dunbar (Coster) is a civil war hero. Given the choice of outpost as a reward for a selfless act on the battlefield, he picks the furthest place he can find, the prairee. Also known as Indian country.
Far from being the war-mongering madmen his superiors are presented as, Dunbar is a quiet, docile man, eager to learn and thoughtful. He writes a diary, in which he ... Read More:

Finally! The first Costner film that you can sit and watch with real pleasure for far too long.
Boss Freeman (Duvall) and Charley Waite (Costner) are Freegrazers (a kind of gypsy cowboy with no ranch) travelling with their herd and companions through the majestic scenery of the Wild West.
What follows has been seen many times before but rarely carried off with such aplomb. Duvall is, as usual, superb and Costner plays the taciturn cowpoke with a violent past much better than Eastwood managed in 'Unforgiven'. Gambon invests the evil town `guvnor' with just the right amount of ham and menace and Bening is in fine fettle as the love interest.
The film builds up the tension slowly, helped by a haunting score, before probably the best shoot-out finale seen since the Westerns heyday.
