The mouse is the hero of this stunning comedy....."Nostrodamus never seen this mouse coming"....is just one of the brilliant one liners in this movie. If your looking for a family movie for adults and kids alike then this is the one.

This is not a great movie.
I watched Blood Simple for the first time a few weeks ago and really enjoyed watching Francis McDermott. She was fantastic in Fargo. Fargo was a great movie with all the right moves, excellent tone, bizarre characters, and a flatly affected but very strong pregnant cop played by McDermott. The Coen brothers are known for their slightly off-kilter films. Raising Arizona with Nicholas Cage and Holly Hunter was a very successful and entertaining quirky movie. Strange characters and bizarre situations can be very entertaining. The formula just doesn't work in Miller's Crossing.
Gabriel Byrne stars as a dirtball gangster. He's the slimey no. 2 to Albert Finney in Finney's massive gangster world. Finney ... Read More:

Best film I've watched in a long time. Great story, acting and scenery. Costner is perfect. Only complaint is Michael Gambon- oirish, then American, then Oirish again. Easy to ignore though. If you you like BBC Jane Austin type plot lines with non gory gunfights set in a Wild Western film, then this is for you. Good stuff.

Mawkish to the point of being gruesome, each scene without exception is sunk by a tidal wave of faux sentimentality. The script is awful, the characters feeble. Utterly painful.

I have to admit to being slightly puzzled by some of the negative reviews I have seen about this film. I saw this at the cinema when it came out and had quite low expectations of it. Therefore, I was surprised by how chilling it really is. Combined with the acting skills of Cate Blanchett, Keanu Reeves, "Buddy" (Phoebe's brother in Friends) and Hilary Swank, this really is a better then average supernatural yarn.
A young girl is missing and psychic Annie has visions of her decomposing body. But who is the murderer?
The relationship between Cate Blanchett and her on screen children is touching and relieves the tension well from some of the more frightening scenes. I actually had a nightmare after watching this film and it involved violins! ... Read More:

This is Woody at his most inventive. Beginning in the prohibition era and filmed documentary-style largely in black and white, it tells the fictional tale of Leonard Zelig (Allen), a humble clerk with a troubled childhood, who grows into a man who can change his physical appearance to match that of those around him. If he's among Chinese people, he becomes Chinese; if he's among Scotsmen, he grows red whiskers and sports a kilt. When among professional people, he talks convincingly as though he were one of them, though he's unable to accommodate any changes to emulate women, midgets or chickens. In the company of his psychiatrist, he pretends to be one himself, claiming that he's treating two sets of Siamese twins for split personalities, and is therefore getting paid ... Read More:

A film dealing with one of life's great problems - death. Clint fills the part of a reporter perfectly, juggling a troubled personal life with a moral, very public issue. I'm sure this film will provide a moral dilemma for many years to come.

I really enjoyed this movie and the stars shine in this 'robbery goes wrong' film. The ending was very good and I don't think it fades ..I loved the scene where William H. Macy is showing off his painted glassware. What I did enjoy was the great music that went with the film as It all fitted in so well and I loved the end theme of 'Maybe it's you' performed by Johnny Crawford who is now on a jazz kick these days. Great film to watch and listen to!
