I bought the thorn birds series 1 dvds as a gift, and was about to send them back as she said they where not complete when I realized they are double sided dvd's. So she is going to check them out.It would have been nice of Warner Bro to have put a note on the case, perhaps the ink cost to much any way watch this space because if its wrong Ill be back to tell you. ps app it's quite racey!!! prob why my x watched it when I was at work...

This movie is very funny indeed.However it's not suitable for children, old-fashioned people with manners,or parents who are thinking of paying for their sons and daughters' education at a university.The sad thing is that students really do behave this badly.I couldn't watch it again because apart from the gross behaviour of the students there isn't much of a story going on.

If this was the first Steve Martin film I had ever seen I would have missed some of his really good ones because I wouldn't have bothered with any others. I thought the only good thing about it was the way old films were so cleverly used to bring in many old stars that only a granny like me would recognise. This one wont be watched again.

This film is the brainchild of Bruce Robinson, the man-genius behind Withnail And I. Now Withnail is my favourite film of all time - but this is definitely in my top 5, if you thought Richard E Grant was neurotic as Withnail, he was positively laid-back compared to Dennis Bagley.

Bagley is a high-flying advertising executive who can sell anything to anyone, until that is, he starts to have a mental breakdown over some spot cream. The breakdown manifests itself as a series of hallucinations as he believes the boil on his neck is starting to talk to him, which causes him to behave in very strange ways.

This film has something for everything, Ation, Adventure, Romance and comedy. When i bought this DVD i wasnt actually sure what i was getting. I wanted it for two reasons: firstly, after seeing the music video for the Against all odds(take a look at me now) song by Phil Collins i decided to track the film behind the song down and watch it. the second reason is that im a fan of james woods, and after seeing him in Salvador, Once apon a time in america and John Q i wanted to see some of his other work. I found the willingness of the human race to 'take a pill and have done with it' the hardest thing to swallow in this film - that and a pretty hackneyed script and some fairly dodgy acting. If I knew a cloud of radioactive dust was heading my way - and I had several weeks to do something about it - well, I'd get digging!! Instead we are supposed to believe a nation of gung-ho Aussies spend their last days trawling the internet and tuning into the radio for scraps of information as the cloud of death creeps ever nearer. To be honest, this movie is pretty harmless. It's not got a huge amount in its favour..it's just a very average thriller with a simple plot. There's nothing in here that is going to surprise or shock you... It's quite clear that they didn't put a lot of effort into researching the science behind the fiction as, well, they didn't go into any detail.... it more like 'oh look, fancy hydrogen generator.....it'll change the world... everybody run...there's some bad guys who want to bury the technology' Like I said...simple plot. Did find it quite amusing to see Neil Flynn play one of the cops though (he's the janitor from scrubs for those who don't know). Where this Blu-ray is such a letdown though is in the transfer.
