"Sons of Gondor, of Rohan, my brothers! I see in your eyes the same fear that would take the heart of me. A day may come when the courage of men fails, when we forsake our friends, and break all bonds of fellowship; but it is not this day! An hour of wolves, and shattered shields, when the Age of Men comes crashing down; but it is not this day! Today we fight! By all that you you hold dear on this good earth, I bid you stand, Men of the West!"
this says it all (even in todays world but lets not go there). what books and what a movie all of them. cheers peter jackson.

Just watched the latest and lets hope it's the last in the series. Wooden actors, wooden plots and some very suspect dialogue. Just what we've come to know and love about Sharpe, but please, no more, let him just fade away into history.
Release Date September 01, 2008
Please note that this DOES NOT include Sharpe's Challenge. Despite being informed previously, Amazon continue to advertise that it does. There are several other suppliers advertising the same - perhaps they are all getting their text from the same place. But I can confirm 100% that the Amazon description is incorrect and that Sharpe's Challenge IS NOT INCLUDED. Score is based on site listing not the product.

Although I enjoyed the film on a very basic, escapist level, the cynical American nationalism on show was quite replellent. As the film bowls along we are given endless panoramic views of American landmarks, cities, and - what a shock - an aircraft carrier brimming over with fighter planes. The theme throughout appears to be "Gee, aint the good ole USA amazing!" with a flimsy adventure almost tacked on. Also, in the company of Harvey Keitel and Sean Bean (what were they thinking?) Nicolas Cage proves once again that he can't act; I suppose that's what nepotism is all about - if Uncle Francis Ford Coppola couldn't give his nephew a hand up, who could? He did it with his daughter in Godfather 3, after all. Oh, and the villains are the Brits as ... Read More:

Being a huge fan of the books, I was sceptical about the films. Sharpe in the books is massive, scar on the face and black hair, with Harper even bigger. However after half the first movie, these issues were soon forgotten. The first movies you can tell were lower budget and not quite up to the standard of the others, but with good acting they got away with it. After the first 2, you see the budget increasing, and with this and a marvellous Hakeswill I really felt a whole new dimension to the novels. Especially at the new price, I highly recommend this series!

The title says it all these movies are amazing the storyline is amazing, the special effects are out of this world, acting is superb, the battle scenes are breathtaking. Peter Jackson is a genius no one thought anyone could do this but peter jackson prooved everyone wrong. I remember seeing all of them at the cinema they were breathtaking especially the battle senes. I have all 3 films but the first i have on VHS so soon i'm gonna need to buy this. THIS FILM IS A MASTERPIECE!!!!!!!!!

I love Sharpe and Harper. But face it, they're ten years older than in the earlier films. It's doing them a bad turn to pretend otherwise and not to craft the script around that fact. The authors string stereotyped situations with stereotyped villains and bland good guys, a lumpy heroin and a boring femme fatale. Only the enthusiasm of the Indian extras brought some life into it.

Collecting the four movies featuring `official' Bond number five, Pierce Brosnan:
Goldeneye: Pierce Brosnan and Martin Campbell (director of the BBC's classic eco-thriller Edge Of Darkness) brought the Bond series back from the brink with this formulaic but rewarding effort, both a homage to, and an updating of, the old formula. Brosnan, in his debut as Bond, tries his hardest to flesh out the character, whilst Sean Bean is good value as the villain. Famke Janssen gives what is still her most memorable movie performance as the sexually voracious Xenia Onnatopp, but on the downside Judi Dench's luvvie, career-woman M makes her unwanted debut, Alan Cumming ponces around in that way that only Alan Cumming can, and Robbie Coltrane struggles with a Russian accent. Still, with ... Read More:
