this film started quite promisingly, but then suddenly slowed down and then picked up. rather an uneven film but still has good scenes.
james cagney simply steals the film with another riveting performance but with a different style as well.this time, he isn't quite so keen to get involved in any shady dealings.(i would have thought he'd have enough on his mind with trying to prove his innocence)

Most of it are already said. Cagney is one of the best stars ever and this is one of his best films. I think White Heat and The Public Enemy are better, but this is a clear number top 3. Did you know Cagney was 170 cm tall and got a black belt in judo?

This second Signature Collection of Errol Flynn may lack the grandness of volume one but it's one hell of package just the same. The "extras" may be so-so but the choice of films makes it a must-have item. Pride of place has to go to "The Charge of the Light Brigade" (1936). Historians may quibble at its lack of historical accuracy but this is a great ppiece of picture-making and one of Flynn's best bits of derring-do. The charge itself comes thundering at you across seven decades of changinmg fashions and advancing technologies to claim its place as one of the best action sequences of all time.
Then there are two aviation pictures "The Dawn Patrol" (1938) in which Flynn gives of his best performances as a devil-may-care World War 1 ... Read More:
