I LOVE this routine. Eddie Murphy is and always will be a comedy genius. The film is side splitting from the outset; Eddie just seems to bring that uniqueness to the stage and makes the most basic thing funny. Revisiting "Delirious" 24 years after its creation is great to have. The material does seem to have aged as well as the transformation to this disc, but it's hilarious.

The look of Eddie and some of the pop culture it consists of gives it away that this is the '80s; however, enough of the material is comprised of solid universal themes it remains funny. The sound and picture quality (except the picture on the way you make me feel) is incredible. The sound is 5.1 dolby sorround, it's crystal clear and you can hear a pin drop. Whether you watch it on a sorround sound system or a normal TV it's superb quality.

Had the video for some years before I bought the DVD and always rated it as one of my favourite concerts for quality of the performance and the sound/picture quality. The DVD just improves it even more. One of the most perfect live concerts ever filmed under very carefully controlled studio conditions with a live audience. Fabulous all the way through with great individual performances from the band members. A must for any fan.

This series is infinately better than the rather smug (and original) UK version although it does have 2 main faults: Drew Carey & Wayne Brady

Here's my summary of the main regulars:

DREW CARY
Not funny in the chair and even unfunnier when he self appointedly gets up to take the place of the pros. Cary is also very dismissive of the audience (forgetting names etc) and fauning to the comedians (always looking to them for appreciation). Its tough to watch at times. The announcement of the points dont matter doesnt work. In the UK this was assumed but never said which made it all the funnier.

WAYNE BRADY
The way Brady seems to be in complete love with himself in the series distracts for the other guys trying ... Read More:

I recently saw a programme that featured quotes from an Eddie Murphy stand up routine and I remembered how much I loved 'Delirious' when it came out. But when I tried to buy it, it turns out the studio hasn't released it on DVD yet!!!

This is a real shame as 'RAW', his later stand up film, isn't nearly as good.

Please, please, please pressure the studio to release 'Delirious'on DVD. It is Eddie Murphy at his best, before he becomes obsessed with his distrust of women which seems to make up the bulk of his routine in'Raw'.

If you are lucky enough to still have a VHS machine buy this now, even if it will soon become obsolete. It really is worth it!!!
