Need I say more? Dr. Seuss, directed by Chuck Jones and narrated by Boris Karloff!
It is a faithful re-telling of Dr. Seuss's classic story that copies the art and most importantly retains the word play. It even has some good songs if you like that kind of thing!
The Grinch, bitter and selfish steals Christmas away from the Whose. Disguising himself as Santa, he sneaks down to the Whose to take everything Christmassy, and everything else. But will that stop Christmas? Is he beyond enjoying the season himself? What happens when little Cindy Loo Who, who returns his spiteful act with an act of kindness itself...

I have an extremely disappointed little girl sitting beside me who absolutely adored the latest Horton Hears a Who film in the cinema - and thought she was sitting down to the same film (same pictures on box, etc. etc.). Instead, however, it's the original short rhyming version - cute but not what we expected from the box and certainly not the film we wanted to watch together. Unfortunately, nothing on the box says it's not the latest film that's just been released. Hope others don't make the same mistake and waste the same money.

What a treat to be able to watch such pristine presentations of these great cartoons without a network logo stuck in the corner of the screen. The Region 2 release of this DVD is an HMV exclusive, so at the moment your options are to either buy it there or order the US edition. At least two of the discs are available seperately but these do NOT include the extras. (Although most of the featurettes are indeed quite short there is at least one substantial documentary, about 'lost cartoons', which is almost an hour long and contains some fasinating stuff including the pilot cartoon for the 'Bosko' series - very dated now in many ways but fascinating - and a complete 'Private Snafu' cartoon). Yes, there are some notable omissions ... Read More:
