Release Date April 14, 2003
Another BBC 'from small to big screen' film from the 70s which saw many sitcoms of the era go for it such as 'The Likely Lads' & 'Are You Being Served?' Among others.
What makes this one stand out is that its just the best out of the lot.
The writing & acting are combined perfectly to create a viewing that has the humour constant throughout. The legendary Ronnie Barker continues to cement himself as an icon of British comedy as Fletcher which helps make this film stand out.
As with most sitcom films the situation is on a grander scale, having Fletcher & Godber stumble upon a prson break attempt & are forced to escape as well, which then forces the dynamic duo having to break back in to Slade Prison, while ... Read More:

My family and I have loved this film for many years. A spoof of Bulldog Drummond, set in the 1930's, a kind of old fashioned-boys comic-book action figure (even super hero) that is the very dashing and indestructible Bullshot Crummond, flying ace. A brilliant, ever-so-British comedy as our hero saves the world from his evil arch enemy that is Count Otto Von Bruno.
'Is there any limit to to this mans tenacity' as one character rightly put it in the film... The comedic elements centre around the fact that there is simply nothing that Bullshot Crummond cannot do!
I brought the DVD when I first saw it on sale in this format and although I noticed that the copy quality was not too good I must be honest I never really noticed the ... Read More:

Release Date June 26, 1995
This oft-overlooked film is not only clever, but very heavy on political satire, complete with Mrs Thatcher throwing a paper knife at one of her ministers! It is NOT to be missed, my only regret is that is not available on DVD! The funniest, best film you will ever see (and yes, they did use the local crop to make "soup", or "rope" (according to their needs at the time!). Billy Connelly is superb as "Delgado", whilst Michael Caine puts in his best performance since "The Italian Job". Watch out for the dope-smoking and cannon going off, though! ENJOY!!!

My entire family love this film and quote it constantly. It has a supporting cast that is almost a who's who of eighties British comedy and it never fails to make me laugh out loud, despite having seen it dozens of times. It's a particularly British comedy, updating PG Woodhouse farce to eighties anarchy, but I challenge anyone not to find some parts of it funny.
Quick Synopsis
Hugh "Bullshot" Crummond is the greatest living Brit. He Rows for Britain, he takes part in virtually every event at the Olympics, he won the war single handedly, men want to be like him and women want to be with him. Or, at least, that is the public percption. Whilst he is, indeed, a remarkable man, he is also a bumbling bafoon.
