This is my 2 1/2 yr old daughter's favorite Elmo DVD. She would watch it 4x in a row if I let her. The good thing is it's just the right playing time-30min to get them ready for bed or when they wake up as a treat before b'fast. It teaches them concepts like a feather is light and a brick is heavy in a way a 2 yr old could understand and it has really catchy songs which children can dance too. We also have Kids Favorite Songs and Elmocize on VHS which she loves but I highly reccomend this DVD. Worth the money.

Sesame Street - Elmo Says Boo! / Kid's Favourite Songs [1999]

"Elmo Says Boo" involves jokes and songs about "scary" things. The Count plays a big part in this and obviously counting is involved. Again, Sesame Street manages to educate and entertain children equally, and engage their parents too. The jokes are really corny, which is just as my 5-year old likes them and she tells them to anyone who will listen. The songs are great as usual. "Kids Favourite Songs" is a bit of a disappointment. It involves a misunderstanding about Elmo doing a top-ten countdown on the radio. The songs, as the title implies, are well-known nursery rhymes or other children's songs and although they are sung by our favourite monsters there are none of the wonderful Sesame Street original songs. ... My baby had always seemed transfixed with the sesame street characters from quite an early age so we bought this DVD to see if he would enjoy it. He absolutely loves it and dances along to the very catchy songs - of which their are many. Only downside is myself and my husband seem to be singing the songs all the time aswell. I would thoroughly recommend this for anyone with a baby from a year upwards if only for the songs initially and then the learning possibilities later.

My family moved from Greece to French speaking Canada when I was 4 and as my parents worked alternating shifts in order to avoid sending me to daycare, all there was to do while my father slept during the day was watch television. I learned how to speak French in Montreal by watching Sesame Street and when we moved to Toronto when I was 7 it also helped me switch over from French to English. I am at a point (and these are the only products that I do this with) where I do not even read the reviews, I just order for my son who is 32 months old.
