The 1970's saw a lot of variety shows on TV, but none were as unique as The Muppet Show. Here, you had large puppets doing the dances, singing the songs, telling the jokes, and performing the skits. And they do it well.
It's hard to describe the typical episode because they have some variety. Each episode features a special guest star (more on that later) who is involved in a few of the scenes. There are usually a variety of skits and at least one or two song and dance numbers. And there's the behind the scenes drama. We are always treated to some backstage antics as poor host Kermit the Frog has to put up with the temperamental stars of the show. Whether its stand up comic Fozzie Bear who thinks no one wants him around to ... Read More:

I watched this at an early age and I still love it now and sing along to the songs as much as I ever did! With a geeky Rick Moranis and a scary Steve Martin, this film doesn't fail to please.
Although it looks like a kids film younger children might be a bit worried by the man-eating plant . . .however my kids love it ( little gore-hunters that they are!) Its bright colours and cheesy songs are the perfect antidote to a boring sunday afternoon!!!

You may laugh a lot you may laugh a little it doesn't matter this is a must for all fans of brit flicks.
I watched it for it's entertainment value and the fact that alan tudyk starred in it portraying a brit since he really shined in 'a knights tale' with heath ledger he is sure to become a household name in the future (watch this space).
I enjoy a film 10 times more if you get the feeling that the cast really enjoyed making this film with eachother which clearly comes across here.
What seems like a normal family funeral soon goes awry with the arrival of a short unwelcome guest and accidental drug usage takes place how will they all come together so that daniel can read his uledgy at last.
I gave it 4 stars purely because the laughs ... Read More:

Whenever you think of Jim Henson's Muppets, the fuzzy kooky variety shows and entertaining adventures of Miss Piggy, Gonzo and Kermit the Frog come to mind.
But these versatile puppets have been used for far more dramatic effects in "The Dark Crystal," an exquisite little fantasy story that happens to be entirely populated by puppets. Not a live person in sight, from start to finish. Henson and Brian Froud conjured up a gloriously detailed world -- full of fantastical flora and fauna, crystalline castles and strange creatures -- and wrapped it around a solid coming-of-age story.
On another world, there are two strange races that appeared one thouysand years ago -- the enormous, gentle, peaceful Mystics, and the nasty, vulture-like, vicious ... Read More:

I did enjoy this film and feel most viewers will no doubt agree. It has three great actors and a story that is satisfying to its conclusion. A strange performance by Brando, almost without effort and dare i say, it shows. De Niro is much better and holds the film together well, very convincing as the cautious thief and we can relate to his caution where the other two are concerned. Edward Norton is excellent and proberbly the most memorable performance of the film. The way he can change into a mentally/physically challenged person is very impressive. Although it does seem as though he is showing off (who can blame him, he is alongside two of the greatest actors of all time)

Of course, we all remember Jim Henson for bringing us those fuzzy, adorable animal puppets and their kooky variety show.
But Henson also produced some very memorable, intriguing fantasy films, full of otherworldly beauty, humor and a distinctly horrific note at times. This two-pack brings together the quirky, dreamlike coming-of-age tale "Labyrinth" and the exquisite, otherworldly, horrific "Dark Crystal," both of which were swimming with very unique Henson creations.
"Labyrinth" becomes a problem for teenage Sarah, who is stuck babysitting her crying baby stepbrother, but would prefer to stay in her romantic, fantastical daydreams instead. When she idly wished that the goblins would steal him, she never expected goblins to appear and snatch him away ... Read More:

I fell into the trap after buying this of thinking it gay propaganda thus ignoring the pleasure of watching a warm, fun film for nearly 18 months. Don't make the same mistake. The majority of films are meant to be entertainment first otherwise we wouldn't bother with them.
The behaviour of the class after Cameron's decalration at the Oscars to ther teacher (Kevin Kline) is fairly good and Kline's attempt to deny what he is classic in the body language. Bob Newhart as the headteacher is perfect hesitant and clearly somewhat homophobic boss. The highs and lows of the emotional turmoil mixed with some great comic moments works well. Tom Selleck as the reporter is a gem, especially when he forces a kiss on Kline and tells him he is out. The ending is ... Read More:
