This is as good as all the reviews claim. However we still need to wait for the Shogun Redux version since this is NOT the complete version. There remain many scenes (I recall four vividly) which would deepen and extend the experience; turn it, if you like, from a concerto to the symphony it first was. It is a pity it is described as complete when patently it is not.

This spellbinding made for TV film (starring Gregory Peck and Christopher Plummer) is based on J. P. Gallagher's book "The Scarlet Pimpernel of the Vatican", the true life story of Monsignor Hugh O'Flaherty, who saved roughly 4000 Jews and Allied POWs from Nazi occupied Rome.

In 1943 O'Flaherty organises an enormous network of civilians, priests and nuns to save Jewish refugees and Allied POWs from the Nazis, hiding them in flats convents and churches in Rome to save them from the GeStaPo and Colonel Kappler. Kappler decides to have a white line drawn around the Vatican and check those entering and leaving but with many disguises O'Flaherty manages to slip the net and escape assassination attempts on his life.

Despite some inconsistencies, some weaknesses in the screenplay and actors direction, "Dr Quinn, Medicine Woman" is undoubtedly a good pedagogical family series. I don't mean to comment on it. I just want to point to the fact that in the Series Six DVD, the order of the episodes has been mixed up on discs 4, 5 and 6, which makes things very confusing at times. As far as I know, one should watch in the following order: #15,#17,#13,#14,#16,#21,#20,#19 and #22.

highlight : the last laugh, a hilarious two parter in which Mark having worked to prove a close friend didn't murder her husband with laughing gas is caught up in intruige and mayhem when he discovers that she may not in fact be as innocent as she seems. who will get the last laugh? Enjoy the brilliant second season all over aain, and again.

I have to say that this is by far one of my faveriote series being a HUGE fan of who dunnits i love this programme. Is very easy to watch with a different stoey everytime but the nice touch is u get to grow wih the charcters and they arnt changing everytime. I am a fan of both jack and jessies and they both play a good part. Also i have to say that this was the only programme that my daughter was quite to i would recommend this to anyone who has enjoyed Muder she wrote or quincy or ironside.
