I am a big fan of waking the dead, but had never actually watched the first series. After being given some amazon vouchers, I recently brought this series and was not disappointed at all!

It was good to see the team frst coming together and forming their often strained relationships. Added to that were the gripping storylines and solid acting. One of the most haunting episodes is Small Sacrifice. Not only is it spooky, but quite moving too.

I am eagerly awaiting series seven, but this should certainly keep you going in the meantime!

I've bought seasons 1-3. The first season I liked it but the boss guy annoyed the hell out of me. I'm afraid he hasn't improved in seasons 2 and 3. He just seems to be a complete arse and I have no sympathy or connection with the character. The science is great and the storylines are pretty cool too ... but I keep wanting to smack the boss bloke in the chops.

This is truly classic light drama covering Reilly's career form the Russo-Japanese war to the rise of Stalin. The Reilly character is very charming (as are his numerous paramours) but treacherous and the story told in a compelling and serialised way. If you like good acting, realistic sets, and a good story free from all the agitating diversions in contemporary television programmes then this is for you. It would not be made today as producers feel compelled to dumb down content with infantile background `mood' noises that grind on the nerves. I suspect this is to distract from the lack of content, or perhaps most programmes these days are made for children rather than those with adult tastes. Some great memories in here, however the DVDs only have a couple of the original complete shows on, not the complete series of shows. I think this is a little misleading on the website, Still, if you are of the generation that grew up watching seasame street, or just want to brain wash your kids with it...its well worth a watch just to see the classic 'pinball' animation again.

My sons just love this DVD, it has them entranced from when the first song plays. Plenty of songs and all the great Sesame street moments that I remember from my childhood. Highly recommended.
