These are brilliant suspense / shoot 'em up films. Classic stuff, and while the first is the best by a wide margin, they're all worth owning. Great fun.

I loved this movie. Even though the 1968 movie with Steve McQueen as Thomas Crown and Faye Dunaway as Vicki Anderson (the Catherine Banning characater in this version)was great, I enjoyed this one more. Faye Dunaway appears as the psychiatrist in this version. Pierce Brosnan plays the Thomas Crown character with the right amount of style and mischievousness and with his cool, calculating reserve makes a good counterpart to Rene Russo's exuberant but equally intelligent insurance investigator (Catherine Banning). The repartee between her and Crown and Detective McCann (Dennis Leary) provides a lot of the energy for the movie. Brosnan and Russo manage to create a strong sexual and romantic tension as well. Scenes of sailing and events in Martinique ... Read More:

Director John McTiernan gives us yet another techno thriller: THE HUNT FOR RED OCTOBER. Sean Connery (whose Russian is too Scottish) plays Captain Marko Ramius, a much decorated Russian commander who navigates his submarine towards America in an attempt to defect. Soviet intelligence tells the Americans that Ramius went mad and plans to launch nuclear missiles at the United States. Jack Ryan (Alec Baldwin in his major film acting debut), a brainy CIA analyst, believes otherwise: American spies have determined that the submarine is powered by a secret, silent engine called a "caterpillar drive."
To save the Soviet submarine for prying western eyes, meanwhile avoiding a nuclear war, Ryan must board the Red October to assist Captain Ramius ... Read More:

In the third instalment of the Die Hard series, detective John McClane must obey a bomber's rules whilst trying to get along with electrician Zeus and recover from a really bad headache.
With an explosive beginning, literally, Die Hard with a vengeance starts as it means to go on with top notch action, adrenaline and an amazing appetite for adventure.
Willis (Moonlighting) returns as the iconic McClane and is juxtaposed with Samuel L Jackson (Pulp Fiction) as the nervous but intelligent electrician Zeus and as in Pulp Fiction, the two perform their hearts out in another excellent Die Hard film.
Filled with humour and one liners, both characters are enjoyable to watch and make the plot even more intense with witty dialogue. ... Read More:

I'm not going to review the plot or acting as I'm sure that if you haven't seen this movie before then there are plenty of places to read how good it is. As a movie I give it 5*, one of my favourites.
As a blu ray disc I'm giving it 4*. Many parts such as the scenes when they first land in the jungle look amazing! The light coming through the tree's really sets the whole thing off and it looks like a film that was made yesterday. The camo paint, weapons et all on the characters look great throughout as well. Night time scenes, while not excellent are still very good. My only criticism (and why it doesn't get 5*) is that when there are both light and dark on the screen at once, the dark does seem a bit grainy (not my TV, its ok with everything else. I did ... Die Hard is probably the greatest action film ever made and so much was riding on this transfer. Well, it's pretty good actually! I've seen reviews that rate it as 3/5 from critics (picture quality) but it's actually a bit better then that. The 3D feeling is in effect and the colours are nice too. The sound is DTS 5.1 and it sounds great through a sorround system. The picture could be better in close ups with hair and beards ect... the faces (pores)aren't as sharp as they should be. This isn't a demo disc but it's not as bad as reported. It is worth the upgrade from the DVD with a 3.5/5 transfer. Not bad for a film that's twenty years old.

This has been consistantly my favourite film for a long time. I don't know why? I have watched it six or seven times, always enjoying it, the story is pacey, there's humour, action, and loads more. Banderas shouldn't fit but does and gives, for me, his best performance in a film. Buy with confidence, fills loads of genres, action, adventure, fantasy, heroic fantasy, etc etc. Enjoy.

This is a stunning film. It's got tension, great lines, some fantastic action and a brilliant performance from Bruce Willis. Some really gripping, edge of seat action. A great movie!
