Heat Guy J Complete Series 1 Box Set [2003]

directed by: Kazuki Akane

Release Date August 21, 2006
A really good anime series, that simple. Lots of action, a good storyline to it, but nothing too heavy. Its not the sort of series for someone who really wants to get engaged with the plot line, or look for deep meaning, but its alot of fun, kept me interested throughout the entire series, and at that price, it really is a bargain for what you are getting.

Certainly hasn't changed my life, but very enjoyable.

Up there with 'Evangelion', this is an intelligent, well written, beautiful looking series. Whilst the series obviously looks 'of its time' it stills looks amazing. Box set is expensive though so region 1 may be the way to go.

The characters in this movie are a lot more mature than in vision of esca, they are also a lot better drawn and the colours have more depth. overall the look and characters themselves are great. Hitomi is more depressed, deeper and lacks the annoying high school voice. Van is more muscular and is more likeable, less arrogant (despite wanting to 'defeat all his enemies'). Folken has gorgeous long hair and is a little crueler. Allen and Melerna are less annoying. And of course, dilandau and his slayers get a look in!

the story itself is better, with Hitomi being a wing goddess and Zaibach not even existing, just the black and white dragon clans. I just wish Hitomi had been captured once...sigh... would have made it more intereting.

Heat Guy J

starring: Masaya Matsukaze, Takayuki Sugo, Daisuke Sakaguchi
directed by: Kazuki Akane

Release Date March 27, 2006
Heat Guy J is an excellent series - the characters are entertaining and well developed, the plot lines are interesting with lots of different themes, and the animation is fast paced as well as being realistic. It also has great music - very varied! As far as criticisms, the dialogue can sometimes be a little clunky, and occaisionally the CGI animation doesn't blend particularly well - having said that though it still makes for a hugely enjoyable series. I highly reccomend it.

I love this series. I have to say that at the beginning just in case anyone thinks I may be biased. Because I am. A lot.

I love this series. Rather than being an average detective style show, which seems to have been getting really popular in Japan over the last few years, 'Heat Guy J' is a wonderfully animated story, the characters are given depth and histories which effect their points of view and outlook on life, and the music is just fantastic!

Essentially, the story is the battle of the Special Unit, as seen through the eyes of laid-back mamber Daisuke Aurora, against the Leonelli family, a mafia-style syndicate ran by the notorius and utterly deranged Clair Leonelli. The special Unit's trump card is 'Heat Guy' J, the only government sanctioned android ... Read More:
