Charlie is about to leave London but changes his plans to help the young people. Arriving at an English country manor, Charlie must examine the setting to find out what really happened. Only by finding the real killer can the young man be saved.

Taken for what it is this movie isn't half bad. In many ways it is quite an accomplishment since it features a historical campaign that was fought only a year before and was a hard won victory for the US armed forces and is therefore an interesting bit of history and just the right thing for a propaganda film.

Acting is much better than in say Wake Island with giants like Anthony Quinn in leading roles. Still it has quite different production values than today and is more a movie for a war movie enthusiast than average viewers - but if you are here thats probably what you are anyway.

Generally I prefer British contemporary World War 2 movies like The Way Ahead and First of the Few but of the American movies from this time ... Read More:
