Sorry, but I bought this on the basis of the other reviews and I really can't see what they see in it.
The script is really plastic, the acting stiled, the filming is reminiscent of poor quality home movies.
And as far as I am concerned, this is just so unfunny it is tedious!

I found myself absolutely in stitches throughout this series. The series revolves around two events: Larry and Cheryl's vow renewals (and the impending 'special' anniversary gift), and Larry's upcoming stint on broadway, appearing in Mel Brooks' new Producers musical. Some shortcomings still seem over-rehearsed, but, overall, this sereis feels so much more natural than 1-3, and thus comes accross as terribly engrossing. See this series!

Like a number of other reviewers I remember "Kung Fu" as a young boy growing up in the seventies, but I decided to buy this series because of delving into "Kung Fu" from the point of view of philosophy and then memories of my early years and "Caine" came back. Looking at them now as an adult, I am amazed at their depth and content, all of which, of course, went over my head as a boy. There is wisdom to be gained in every episode, word and deed; and always a one-line gem to be found somewhere. It was a great series, unlike anything on t.v. at the time.

Although this is a fine series and an excellent return to an influential icon when I was a kid (everyone was dodging Indian arrows and oriental influences at school...) I'm angry with the fact that the picture has been "zoomed", and therefore damaged, to fit a full 16:9 screen. I find this a true insult to the original format and a very bad service to the people who worked to get their vision on the screen way back then. As a customer, I strongly feel that there should be a clear warning about this. Bad form.

I bought the Kung Fu Complete Third Season to complete my collection, when it arrived I found it was actually Region free and plays perfectly on all region settings! It also worked on my PAL tv. I can't promise it will work for you, but if you're a fan of this awsome 1970's martial arts series then it may be worth taking the risk...

In spite of some minor flaws in picture and sound quality these disc are worth every penny. The mono soundtrack sounds a bit dull to those who are used to multi channel encoded discs in the Dolby Digital 5.1 or DTS format, but all in all sound quality is really good considering this series were made more than three decennia ago. The picture quality is absolutely fabulous for a series from 1967. I've never seen The Avengers in such bright colours. When I first saw them on television they looked much more faded and less colourful.
The episodes themselves are all very enjoyable to watch. Being a great fan of the series I have to say that I'm very fond of the first colour episode "From Venus With Love". The reason for that is quite simple: It was ... Read More:

This documentary premiered on US TV this summer (07) to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the label which rode the wave that was Soul, the soundtrack to the struggle for Civil Rights. From it's beginnings in a old cinema on McLemore Avenue in Memphis, through it's golden era(s), the story of Stax is the story of the rise and fall of Soul as the dominant musical genre, to the point where disco took over.
The influence exerted by Soul though is still felt today, and the music has never been allowed to die by those who love it. In 2007 the label has been reborn, with re-releases and new material, and the 50th anniversary is a great excuse for this documentary, to celebrate the part the music played in influencing change in the 60's and 70's

This is the process how movies made in black and white are transformed into colour. A common reaction among film fans to this is similar to that of an animal lover watching their favourite pet tortured to death; it is a vile and disgusting abomination.
I'd never seen a colourised movie before I bought this set of three of Ray Harryhausen's earliest full length movies. And you know what? I like it just fine. No doubt it helps that the process was supervised by the man himself who stated that if they'd had the money they would have been filmed in colour in the first place. Also technology has improved since the process was first invented so if you didn't know that these were originally made in b/w you almost certainly wouldn't be able to guess.
