This film is hillarious.
The Grinch is a green hairy fella who lives with his dog. He hates Christmas and all things nice.
I have watched this film so many times, and i still laugh out loud every time.
I highly recommend this film to anyone who wants a funny, feel good Christmas movie, to watch with all the family.

In the first of Ron Howard's and Tom Hanks' collaborations, Hanks stars as Allen Bauer, an unlucky in love man who travels to Cape Cod, where he meets a beautiful woman, who has a secret, she is a mermaid.
In perhaps a forgotten gem of the 80's, Howard delivers a heart warming tale about one man and his unlucky in love life, and how the extraordinary can bring out the hearts desires in a truly good funny and ultimately tale.
Hardly his best role, Hanks still delivers in a cliché hero role as Allen, someone all men can relate to. A man who needs to get over his own personal fear in his pursuit for happiness.
Daryl Hannah (Kill Bill) is excellent in the role of Madison the mermaid. The way Hannah portrays her ... Read More:

Can Tom Hanks do no wrong, not in this case because alongside Kevin Bacon and others he brings this magnificent account of the near 1970 disaster of the Apollo 13 moon mission into one of the most frilling and brilliantly directed films to come out of Holywood for many years.
Ron Howard (Ricky in Happy Days) won a deserving Oscar for this incredible film, the cinematography and script make this an especially memorable film.
Now the last Saturn 5 space rocket took off from the Kennedy Space Centre with Apollo 17s successfull moon mission in 1972.The launch sequence in this film is as realistic as it is possible to get to the real thing way back 35years ago even down to the control centre itself.

Russell Crowe gives arguably a career best performance as mathematician John Nash, who has schizophrenia. The visual hallucinations of his illness are depicted as real both for Nash and us, while the paranoid elements are given with just the right amount of off-key madness yet retaining (for Nash) a degree of reality. Crowe also portrays well the personality of Nash in his illness, for example his obsessive need to find patterns and break codes. I am looking forward to reading the book on which the film is based, and would recommend the film to everyone with even a passing interest in flawed genius.

I recently bought the digitally mastered dvd of this lovely fantasy film. I haven't watched this film for a good 25 years but seeing it now was still as enjoyable than when I was 14 years old. This is a classic fantasy film that hasn't lost it's appeal as it doesn't rely on special effects which would look cheap nowadays. I am not going to write much about the content of the film itself as others before me have already done it justice.
The reason why I didn't give it the full 5 stars is that there are a few scenes at the end where the remastering actually decreased the picture quality.
I bought this dvd from bargainhunters who advertised it as a special edition which was supposed to come in a nice case but actually this version is packaged cheaply in a thin plastic ... Read More:

I don't generally watch anything to do with boxing, I find the idea of two men fighting as a sport barbaric, however this film got me that involved in the almost true story I got caught up in the excitement of the fight scenes. I thought Russell Crowe was excellent in the film and it portrayed how the depression of the 1930's had an impact on family life as they struggle to make ends meet. Well worth watching!

THIS IS ONE OF THE WORST MOVIES EVER.IT IS REALLY BORING.
WHAT COULD BE WORSE THAN WATCHING FORREST GUMP PLAYING DETECTIVE IN A MUSEUM.
Release Date June 05, 2006
Typical Ron Howard rubbish. Managing to top his annoying persona of Ritchie Cunningham by making sickly sweet 'Go America' films of vomit inducing proportions. The fire is the best actor in this film trumping even Bobby De Nerio. Donald Sutherland is the mad fireman which is totally unconvincing as plot twists go as he is too old, avoid this film at all costs. Its trashy and amateur with heavy handed and too sugary characterisations and cheap special effects. Cheeeeeeeeeeeeesey!!

This is one of my favourite films in the last decade. Knowing that this really happened adds to the allure. The fact that it's about real life space-travel and that it happened in the 60s adds too. Ed Norton is great as a leader carrying the weight of responsibility for the stranded astronauts on his shoulders. Gary Sinise steals the show from Tom Hanks in my book.
This film works and works well. I love the message about teamwork and how cruicial the "behind the scenes" guys are to a mission (Not just the quarterback, but the team physician and waterboy as well).
I've not given 5 stars to any films until this one. I can't recommend it more.
