My daughter is 5 and she loves all the Barbie movies. We have them all on DVD and she watches them a lot. Sometimes kids films are hard for an adult to enjoy but the Barbie ones are all so well done and written that I don't mind watching them with her. This is a re-telling of the Charles Dickens story and they have adapted it for young girls. There is no grim reaper style spirit and they don't show the character's death so it is much nicer. Heartwarming tale about the true meaning of Christmas. Any little girl would love this movie.

My daughter is nearly five, and has entered the Barbie age. This sequence of four stories are good as they can be either watched in sequence, making it a long entertainment also for grown ups, or separately, as there is a little summary of the previous movies at the beginning of each next one. The stories are simple, naive and very predictive, but suitable for the age-group three-to-ten-ish, and passes all the typical righteous messages, of good defeating bad (and the baddies are bad, but also funny - no violence), educational messages, etc, etc, in a colourful computer animation, with very pleasant graphics. It is at least six hours of watchable films, and definitely worth the money! My daughter's favourite is Mermaidia, she must have watched ... Read More:

My six year old daughter (and her twin brother) love this delightfully told little film, which in many ways is the most original of the Barbie children's videos: and of those which have original soundtracks rather than music taken from the classics, it has by far the best music.
Before we first rented one of the Barbie videos for my daughter, I was expecting them to be trite, over-commercialised, over-sugary and over here. However, I have been pleasantly surprised.
Yes, they do have a lot of commercial spin-offs and a high saccarine count, but the quality of the Barbie films we have subsequently bought or rented, including "The Princess and the Pauper," was significantly higher than I had previously expected. They ... Read More:

Compared with some of the other Barbie videos I was slightly disappointed with this, but the target audience certainly were not. In the week we rented this film I have lost count of the number of times my children have watched it.
For reference, this is the third in the "Fairytopia" sequence which currently consists of:
Fairytopia
Mermaidia
Magic of the Rainbow.

My two young daughters really love all the Barbie movies - including the four in this collection. Even my wife and I enjoyed sitting through the films (up till around the 100th time). Princess and Pauper is the latest film out of the four, and the animation is the best amongst the four. As for actual story telling, I rate these as good as any classic Disney filmes. On the animation front, it's catching up fast too.
Other than the four films in this collection, my kids almost love the more recent FairyTopia, and the even newer Mermaidia.

As said above, my Barbie mad daughter (six years old) loves this. Her favorite was Mermadia, to which I agree. Some of the bits in it even made myself and her Dad laugh (involving the somewhat annoying puffball).
I did only have the final film for her, but she asked to get the other two, so when I saw this box set, I decided it would be better, she gave one of her friends' the extra one.
I felt this was a good buy for other Barbie fans, as well as the other films, ie: Magic of the Pegasus. I also bought her the doll of Elina, and she regularly acts out the films with her, so I'd say this was a good buy, too.
