Having been unimpressed with first series of The Wire, I only started watching this, the second series, due to the endless critical praise that I kept seeing every time I picked up a newspaper. And I'm glad I did. The second series of The Wire is a huge improvement on the first. The story is deliberately slow to get into its stride but nevertheless is compelling from the opening credits to the final fade. This is a high quality Police drama which shows the good and the bad in everyone; the criminals, the stevedores and the Police all have very human qualities, both strengths and weaknesses, and the divide between crime and order is a realistically hazy one. Having watched the first three series, I would say that this one is my favourite and series 2 is my least favourite (although still worthy of five stars). Having said that, without a lot of important build up in series 2, especially within the Barksdale empire, series 3 couldn't have had the same impact. On a general note, and this applies to all the series, the viewing experience is extraordinary and I think a lot of that is down to the fact that we've been blessed with so many hours with these characters. If you are interested in learning about the Tudor period and the court of Henry this is a series best missed.
Inaccurate in historical facts and the dress of the time. Poorly portrayed, I only watched the first three episodes, but could take no more of this fantasy. Why I ask is it necessary to alter the facts when the life of Henry and his court is so well documented?

Based on Neil Gaimen's novel, this fantasy adventure is interesting and light-hearted, but doesn't have the humour and the true loveable factor to make a true classic.

With an exceptional cast which includes several Oscar nominated actors, and zeitgeist stars, this had true potential but in the end there just isn't enough zest to bring it out of a conventional plotline.

The best reviews are always those whose author is well versed in the subject ~ seemingly an obvious point but something that is all too often ignored ~ and if the reviewer also loves his or her subject matter with a passion, so much the better.

It would be hard to find a more poetic, seductive reviewer than this super sexy man, who is clearly first a Venetian and second an Italian! Francesco draws the viewer in like an angler teasing a fish until you are well and truly hooked!

This film is boring and badly acted especially by Miss Knighty. The story not clear and missing vital information from the book well not so much missing but not making it clear.

I looked forward to taking my wife to this and wished I had not it was truly truly bad. She like myself had read the book at some time but seriously felt let down.

Would not recommend at all, stay at home with your feet up and watch paint drying its more fun honest!

Zum Inhalt ist hier aus meiner Sicht schon genug gesagt worden. Für deutschsprachige Fans ist vielleicht interessant, dass sich auf dieser DVD auch eine deutsche Tonspur befindet. Ich persönlich brauche die nicht, aber da diese in den technischen Daten nicht genannt wird, íst das möglicherweise erwähnenswert.
