Having been subjected to the whole 8 series keeping the little ones occupied I was curious to see how this would work with a new voice and clearly american take on the tales.

Well the addition of Pierce Brosnan's voice as the narrator is a great choice and the story and songs kept my 23 month old captivated and happy for several hours. The songs are a change and he jiggles around to them with glee. The extras keep him entertained as well.

This makes a great gift to any thomas fan.

I saw this film at the cinema and really enjoyed it - so much so that I pre-ordered the Blu-Ray. It's pure comic book and should be enjoyed as such. Leave your brain at the door and just enjoy the ride. It's not a high-brow cinematic classic but it packs a lot of fun into a couple of hours.

Bought this DVD based on the reviews printed & I wasn't disappointed. There were loads of laugh-out-loud moments; one-liners, stories, banter with the audience. You can turn the swearing off apparently, but if you need to, you really shouldn't be watching! I'd pay to see him live - highly recommended.

I had great expectations of this DVD and first impressions of the sparkling video were encouraging. Then came the 5.1 dts sound. This simply wasn't up to current standards. It sounded muffled with a peculiar fading in and out of instruments. The sound stage was compressed without any illusion of being in a concert hall, rather
lo-fi. I so wanted to be taken in by The Stones but found myself disappointed.

It's difficult to imagine any dramatisation of 'Bleak House' being better done. The cast is uniformly excellent and the adaptation successfully captures the 'page-turner' quality of the book. Not to be missed.

Series six does not reallly measure up to the high standards Spooks has set. First of all, visually it's much more conventional than the earlier series. But stories and characters were always Spooks' strongest assets. The stories are just not as gripping as they used to be and they seem to be running out of ideas. The first two episodes are about biological warfare, the third is about chemical warfare. The development of the storylines is sometimes not very convincing in terms of arriving at a solution. Too often there is the deus ex machina which is not satisfying. The characters are interesting as always, particularly nerw arrival Connie. The wet bits with the animals are well filmed although some of the animals look like they are playing up to the camera at times. The underwater bits don't look real in places especially with the multicoloured tiny fizzers. Also the dolphins are singled out as something special like in most fish films, but they are just a fish! This is since Flipper set the benchmark of what to expect of a fish. The documentary would have scored higher if it left out the dolphins and made Dave say 'tuna' not 'tuna' as he pronounces it. He says 'tuna' as in 'tooner' where I say 'tuna' as in 'choona'. He's not American!

This is so much better than The Challenges 1 both the DVD setup and the content and you get extras . This is madcap alcohol inspired ideas that mere mortals like me can only dream of . I love the quest for the greatest driving road where captain slow loses buckets of sweat and the race across London with the stig on public transport ...fantastic .Keep it coming guys .
