Comparisons with American Pie are inevitable but in my opinion Superbad is the better of the two films. That's not to say that it isn't full of male teenage obsessions, bad language and sexual references. It certainly is. However in my opinion the film's intentions are in the right place while the American Pie series went for the "gross out" option a bit too often.
The plot is familiar. Nerdy teenagers are worried about their lack of sexual experience as the end of high school approaches. An unexpected opportunity presents itself as they are invited to a "cool girls" party. The catch is they have offered to supply the alcohol for the party. They believe obtaining the booze will almost certainly result in them reaching the "Holy ... Read More:

blade runner:the final cut ? are we sure now sir ridley? i have enjoyed various re-releases from laser disc, video, dvd & now blue ray. each version is great ,there are some copies with harrison ford's narration.
disc 1 is amazingly restored with new cgi effects & ridley scott's favourite ending scenes, fantastic city sets with flying cars & chases
entwined with a film noir atmosphere.breathtaking! if you just don't get it then so what? you can't slate it,it's a blueprint for another 1000 sci-fi movies.
disc 2 is fascinating, it's crammed with interviews from cast, directors &
crew. what is unbelievable though is when the movie was released amongst films like e.t people didn't get it. it was almost a disaster.but ... Read More:

This is one of the best films I've seen in ages - funny, touching and close to the book. It leaps from past to present, story to real life easily and effectively, and ties up Kissin' Kate Barlow, Madame Zerone and the Warden well, mixing up the stories as seamlessly as the book does. It is a beautiful adaption of the book - the screenplay was written by Louis Sachar himself, which means that it's been done exactly as he meant it to be. Writing is making a film in your head, and this is exactly the kind of film he was writing.

Splendidly adapted from America to France this is a wonderful policier which obeys the rules of giving you all you need to solve the case and then misdirecting you handsomely. If you found Hidden (Caché) a real downer because it failed to finish the story then watch Tell No One to have your faith in French films restored. The plot is strong, the acting effective across the whole cast and the tension is palpable.
Eight years ago Dr Alexandre Beck was assaulted and his wife kidnapped, tortured and killed by a serial killer. So why is he now receiving emails from her? Why are the police after him? Who are the mystery group of assassins tapping his computer? Why are two men buried in the woods near the place his wife died? I have no intention of ... Read More:

This is a great movie `cause it has a little something for everyone. I watch it with my boyfriend (who is pretty reluctant to anything too "christmassy"), because I want to see as many christmasmovies as possible in december, and this is one out of a few he is willing to watch with me. It`s funny and entertaining enough to keep him sitting still, and it also has enough christmas spirit to make me happy! :)

I'd love to rate it five star as everyone else has done but it was just "too" contrived, although it was the object of the film. The mix of jurors was excellent and the way the characters interacted was superb but I felt that i) it wouldn't happen as conveniently as that in reality..ii) Lee J.Cobb capitulated too easily...iii) Fonda actually thought that the boy could've committed the murder...iv) the absence of any other suspect..
...v) if everybody's testament was flawed then not even Fonda's argument/reasoning was perfect? That said, it did enthral and showed how prejudiced our beliefs can be..but, by his analysis of human nature he could've acquitted Jack the Ripper....All in all a typical(though not at that time) lawyeristic case of proving others faults, ...
