Along with a number of reviewers, I am joining in the chorus of disapproval that the song "The Love is Gone", which provides the emotional crux of the film, has been left out. OK so it's a bit cheesey, but it's also a key point in Scrooge's redemptive process and the part is so abruptly edited that it makes almost no sense. Back to the VHS, methinks, if the VCR is still working!

So the first two series were great. The radio series was great. They had energy, origionality, verve, were set in a world outside of our own. They had an awkward hero in Howard Moon that we could all laugh at and yet root for. Characters like Bob Fossil, Charlie, Old Greg and Milky Joe populated a world that was rarely not funny, interesting or different.
Series 3: Set in Camden, staring NOEL FEILDING!!!!!!!!.... oh yeah, and julien barrat... sort of. The bumbling hero is now the sidekick. all the old characters are re-run and the jokes are largely re-cycled, take crimping. A few mildly amusing moments, most of them involving howard moon 'its whats inside that counts' etc.
I mean I never liked the 'noel fielding show'... i like the mighty ... Read More:

Be warned this film is hardly anything like the Spiderwick Chronicles books. My son and I have read all the Spiderwick Chronicles and we found this screen adaptation very disappointing. Where's the dwarves, elves, dragons , the palace of trash and the incident at the school where Jared first meets Mulgarath ? It seems to me that they tried to make the film as cheap as possible using mostly cgi, hence no dwarves and elves and tried to save money by using ,mainly one set (the house and the estate it's on). We also found the relationships of the characters had been changed. Why? There was nothing wrong with the supportive relationship between Jared, Simon and Mallory that they have in the books which you only see later on in the film.
The film could easily ... Read More:

I was totally hooked from the 1st episode and ending up watching the full 6... New highlight of a Friday night is the 2nd series being re shown.

I am a fan of most of the Pixar films but have to say that I found this one to be slightly disappointing. It is brilliantly animated,Paris looks glorious and it is well voiced. For some reason though,'Ratatouille' just didn't hold my attention and it isn't a film that I would watch again.
The highlight comes from the voice of Peter O' Toole as Anton Ego.He clearly has a ball as the arrogant food critic and all of the scenes he features in are a delight. On the whole I did feel that this isn't in the same league as 'Toy Story 1 & 2' or 'A Bug's Life'.A fair effort but not Pixar's best.

I was bowled over by this film. It really is a little gem in the history of film. The performances from all three leading characters were superb and the storyline was totally tragic. I cannot believe that the monarchy operated in such a dreadfully inhumane way towards women who tragically lost babies or did not produce the right sex for an heir.It makes me thankful to be alive in this day and age and realise that we as women are equal to men. A tragedy was that of Anne Boleyn who in reality did nothing wrong except produce a girl instead of a boy. I really recommend this film, its something that doesn't come along everyday.

This is a very heavy-handed narrative, in which a pair of New Yorkers: slobby unemployed Jack (Kutcher) meets prissy, aspirational, control-freak Joy (Diaz) under unusual circumstances when they both find themselves emotionally bruised and 'recovering' in Vegas. An evening of 'bonding' over heavy drinking finds the two making use of one of the city's famous wedding chapels - and, Britney Spears-style, living to regret it. But during the morning after the night before, things are complicated by a $3 million fruit machine win... to which both parties feel they have a claim.
The unlikely couple seek to divorce: but are forced into cohabitation by the improbable ruling of a quirky judge... who sentences them to 6 months "hard marriage" - or neither of them will see a dime ... Read More:

It's an all time classic. I believe this is the only version of Pride and Prejudice that does the book justice. Jane Austen would be very proud. I love the strength that Lizzy shows. She always holds her own and is not afraid to speak her mind. She is highly intelligent and is a good example. Colin Firth plays his part so brilliantly. The complex relationship between these two is wonderful. The battle of wills. Then to watch it all come toghether in the end always brings a tear to my eye. I have not seen a movie yet that beats this. They don't make them like this anymore.

This film is an excellent black comedy, a total roller coaster of emotion, side splittingly funny one second shocking the next. The characters are likeable bad guys with personal issues.
I'd highly recommend this film to any one who wants a change from a serious action film and just wants to while away some time. Some scenes are very graphic but combined with the humour makes it hard to decide wether to laugh or cry.
If I was to some sum up the film in one word it would have to be 'Random'.

This is more than just a comedy. It has some uncomfortable truths in it about modern-day fame and celebrity; about how people are prepared to sell their souls to the devil for a slice of stardom. Dont get me wrong here, the comedy is brilliant. But at the same time it mourns the state of society when young people are left uncontrollable sobbing wrecks because they have nothing else in their lives than some dream about celebrity on the X Factor. This DVD is brilliance. It is comedy, but it takes a huge swipe at the greed and self-centredness of fame and celebrity while the true stars and heros are probably sitting next to you on your sofa
