The film started with an interesting plot...
Nim and her father are living alone on an island when one day her father takes a trip out on his boat and gets lost at sea. Nim asks for help by emailing her favourite author Alex Rover (Jodie Foster).
Alex Rover who is scared of everything sets out to save the day with the help of her favourite self-imagined adventure character.
This was executed well and acted brilliantly by Jodie Foster. What lets the film down though is the way the ending seems rushed, the father returns too quickly at the end. The film focuses only on the journey and not at all on the destination. It would have been nice for Alex and Nim to have some sort of adventure together and explore that ... Read More:

This is a brilliant film, up there with his "Pan's Labyrinth" and even better than "Devil's Backbone" which it in some ways resembles - a ghost story involving a children's home. A film about the fierce love between parent and child, which transcends death. I loved the bittersweet ending. It is not a horror film, so if you like horror movies, choose something else.

I can't believe that I was put off buying this at full price because of some of the reviews I read here. I loved the other series of Peep Show, and didn't want to see this one falter. After waiting for such a long time for it to come down in price, I'm annoyed at the over-critical ratings of some reviewers.
This is just as cleverly written as previously - in fact, I don't see what yardstick people are using to compare them. The writing style is similar to other series because it is the same characters and writers which have worked so well before (do they want another Only Fools and Horses disaster where they win the lottery or something?), but the situations, dialogue and story-lines are all as completely original as series 2,3 and 4.

Film review of Matilda (1996)
Star rating-\\\gg
Matilda was originally written as a children¡¦s novel by Roald Dahl (tales of the unexpected) in 1988. His wry wit and humour certainly makes the book an enjoyable read and this humour still shows in Danny DeVito¡¦s movie version of the novel with a contrast of both American and English actors.
The film is about a young girl called Matilda played wonderfully by Mara Wilson (Miss Doubtfire). Though at the time, Wilson was fairly new to the acting scene; her acting skills still comes across as charming.
Another great actor in the film is the director, Danny DeVito (Mars Attacks), who also plays both the narrator and Matilda¡¦s father. DeVito is both clever and witty throughout ... Read More:

This film left me laughing and my missus crying!
A long-time fan of both Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman I went into this film expecting to entertained somehow at least. I also expected it to be bittersweet.
I didn't expect a film about two men with cancer to somehow leave me feeling I'd just watched a "feelgood" film. But that's exactly what this is..
The two lead characters are polarised in their attitudes to life, their success in life thus far and their outlook on their shared news that they have been diagnosed with terminal cancer.
What follows is their decision to enjoy their last few months on the Earth attaining as many of their ambitions on their newly devised "Bucket List" before they pop off to join the Choir Invisible. ... Read More:

In Made of Honour, Patrick Dempsey plays Tom, a nice guy but a serial dater whose sex life is dominated by rules, i.e. no back-to-backs, no phone call until at least 24 hours after getting a phone number, and so on. He has no emotional attachment to any of these women, and in fact, the only constant female in his life is Hannah (Michelle Monaghan). They've been best friends since college and are pretty much inseparable.
When Hannah goes to Scotland for six weeks to work, Tom has an epiphany. Yes, you've guessed it, he's in love with Hannah, and has been for a very long time. He decides to tell her as soon as she's back on American soil. However, things don't quite go to plan. For Hannah has someone in tow... Colin (Kevin McKidd). He's a rich Scotsman and after a whirlwind romance, ... Read More:

OK where to start on this truly horrific crime of a film?
Jar Jar Binks may actually be the worst character in the history of cinema - all those animators and actors who worked to realise this affront to human decency should find a revolver and do the decent thing.
Why do all American kids have problems talking properly? Do they think that speaking like a cutesy 3 year old makes them endearing? Jake whatshisname (Anakin) should never ever be allowed in front of a camera again.
Who came up with the 'story'? My ship is broken, want to come with us, Kid? Seems to be about it.
Also,Why is it that in 'attack of the clones' Anakin has aged about ten years, but Padme is (amazingly) about 3 years older than she was in TPM surely they should have made Padme ... Read More:
