Obviously designed for the younger generation, Step Up 2: The Streets is a well choreographed and fast paced movie that has less of the drama of the first, but a lot more of the message, 'It's not what you have, it's what you make of what you have'.

The storyline was lacking a lot after the first, but I found the dancing and the rawness of this film a lot better than the first.
It seems a lot less polished than the first also (Perhaps due to style of dance or new directing), but nethertheless it's a good film.
The dance scene at the end was truly something and much better than anything in Step Up, although the rain involved played a big part im this.

I've read many novels and biographies on the life and relationships of Henry VIII and if I wanted a historically accurate potrayal of the life of the late king I'm sure I could find hundreds at my disposal but let's be honest they can be deadly dull!!

This series does not claim to be an accurate account of the life of Henry VIII, it advertises itself clearly as a drama and a very steamy one at that. Also if you think about it for a woman to yield so much sexual power over a king that he would break from the Catholic Church, putting his monarchy and country at thread just in order to bed her she had to be pretty alluring and well worth the wait - so justifiably for me the sexual content in the show makes sense. I agree with a previous ctitic, this film had most of the ingredients to make a memorable film - except the screenplay. It was fine until a certain point, then went to hell. Don't buy it, rent it if you feel you've got to see it.

I am not usually a fan of animations but watched this for review purposes for a website. It is absolutely fantastic. Beautifully animated, perfectly cast and hilarious and touching in equal measure, I cannot recommend it highly enough.

I absolutely love this show. I think another reviewer said thirtysomethings will enjoy this more and I have to agree. While Life on Mars was brilliant, a lot of the time it did seem to be nothing more than a pastiche of the brilliant Sweeney and Gene Genie nothing more than a piss-take of the legendary Jack Regan. That is not to slag it off LoM was groundbreaking and I adore John Simm and he made Sam Tyler such an empathetic character it was easy to sympathise with Sam's plight.

However (deep breath)...Life on Mars is a different kettle of fish altogether. The first thing that struck me was how cleverly it is filmed. Out of all the of the christmas films that I have seen over the years, this is the one that stands head and shoulders above the rest! Ok, the acting of the little lad that plays Joe leaves something to be desired, but if you put this aside and just watch the film for shear enjoyment and getting in that festive mood, then you too will get wrapped up in that magic tingly feelling that this film evokes.
I remember watching this film as a little girl and I still get the same feeling it gave when I was about 10. I have now bought it for my 2 year old and he justs loves it - its a fantastic way to introduce children to the magic of Santa, elves, reindeer and the magic of christmas if you just believe. Go on - give it a go - you will not be disappointed!

This is simply the best Blu Ray I have ever seen! Better that Wall E in terms of the scintillating images, colour, and detail! If you have anything like a decent Hi Def set up, this is a must demo and 'show off' disc. The film is good too, and extrtemely enjoyable, funny, full of action, and engaging! You can't go wrong with this movie, especially if you have kids! These animated blockbusters really do get better all of the time, Cars, Ratatouille, Happy Feet, Wall E, Shrek etc. and this is surely the best looking one yet! Ok, I am an adult, and we have no kids, but I suspect like many of us over 25, I do have a soft spot for these films, which really do make the best of your expensive equipment. I was looking forward to this movie, this was one of the iconic books from my childhood. I have to say that I very much enjoyed it, however maybe not as much as the first film. The filming was excellent, with beautiful backdrops and surroundings, very good CGI and good acting. It's been so long since I read the books however, that I can't remember if this was faithful to the original though... will have to re-read them I think! The things that let it down for me were the comedy elements, the mouse-knights and alike fitted very much with a Disney film, however I thought that they were not necessary, and detracted from the story.
