There are not enough words to express how much I truly adore this movie, it's legendary! I could watch this every day and still not get bored, I'm not even going to wait until I have kids to try and justify me buying it.

In typical Warner Bros style, an excellent animated series, poor release treatment!! There are no extras what-so-ever, plus the episodes are in the incorrect aspect ratio of 4:3, rather than the 16:9, of which the series was produced using. So with these in mind, I give this release, 2 stars.
Hopefully, the second half of this series will be released in the 16:9, so we can see the series as it was meant to be, along with some decent extras, though from knowing of the many WB poor releases, I very much doubt it!!

Although I am not the greatest Harry Potter fan in the world I have always enjoyed the film series and thankfully this film continues this trend. The Order of the Phoenix sees the dark lord Voldemort gathering his forces but with the Ministry of Magic refusing to acknowledge his return Harry and his friends must defy the Ministry in order to prepare for the coming war. Complicating matters is Ms Umbridge, the Ministry appointed Defence from the Dark Arts teacher, who is willing to do anything for the Ministry of Magic.
I haven't read any of the Potter books as yet and as such I cannot comment about how closely this film sticks to the book and I have heard mixed reports on the subject. Nevertheless I do feel that the film fits in ... Read More:

This is feel-good viewing at its best - a charming, modern fairytale with Christina Ricci expertly leading a very strong cast as Penelope, the girl born with the face of a pig thanks to an age-old family curse. She is supported by a host of familiar faces, including Reese Witherspoon in a brief but memorable appearance as Penelope's new-found friend. James McAvoy plays Penelope's would-be suitor, and is perfectly cast as the loveable rogue.
With themes of rejection and self-acceptance at its core, the film has a really wide appeal. Far-fetched but relevant, it makes for a really fun, warm hour and half of viewing.

Lark Rise to Candleford is a trilogy of semi-autobiographical novels about the English countryside, written by Flora Thompson, and first published in that form in 1945. This is the 2008 ten-part BBC adaptation, starring Julia Sawalha, Olivia Hallinan, Brendan Coyle and Dawn French.
This is for me the perfect entertainment. Great filming, great language, style, elegance, human relationships, a world changing, extremes in poverty and richness. A world long gone is brought back. This is no trashy entertainment playing to a dump audience. This is just first class.
The cast is just wonderful, all of them, but I have to admit that Julia Sawalha as Dorcas Lane is just fantastic. I am impressed by her as I am impressed by the whole adaption. ... Read More:

I bought this DVD for my young son when he was two years old, with a degree of nostalgia in mind. I would not have anticipated quite what a hit it has been. The gentle, moral tales have captivated him to an amazing degree. We must have been watching these for a year now and he doesn't tire of them at all. The animation of the pictures is very simple but effective, the music is just wonderful. Unlike some other DVDs I've bought (Trumpton, Clangers) this one has lasted the test of time wonderfully - my only complaint is that the new Gladiator tale jars slightly image wise and leaves utterly unexplained how Mr Benn is supposed to know Basher in the first place!!

Family Guy created by Seth MacFarlane is an animated television show which is based in the fictional town of Quahog. The show follows the Griffin family comprising of Peter, Lois, Chris, Meg, Stewie and their dog Brian. Not to forget a whole host of neighbours that live along side them on Spooner Street.
I was very eager to watch the fifth season of Family Guy after the brilliant forth season (of which I've still to review, but I never seem to review anything in order these days.) But unfortunately I feel that this is the weakest link of the Family Guy Saga. They say things get better with age but perhaps this is Family Guys midlife crisis, where the episodes are simply not at their best. The comedy formula is a difficult one to get right, but up until Seth MacFarlane ... Read More:

imho, it's the things that other people hated about this film that made me love it:
the acting was believable. i think that i would make a whimpering noise if i suddenly found myself on the ground with a huge monster standing above me.
the dialogue was believable. in real life people generally don't soliloquy like shakespeare, or describe ever innermost emotion, or philosophise or have great one-liners every minute - they usually just talk rubbish, like they do in this film.
the script was believable. it was what you could reasonably expect to happen if a half-kilometer high monster invaded new york.
there IS humour in the film, if you aren't po-faced.
the direction was tight. it moved forward. it did what it said on ... Read More:

As a die-hard X-Phile, I was excited to hear that a brand new movie had been released. I was expecting the story to pick up somewhat where the show had left off; to see Mulder and Scully trying to stop the impending world colonisation from aliens, the set date of which they had learned in the final series of the show. I had also hoped to see involvement from A.D Skinner and the highly likeable show characters Monica Reyes and John Doggett.
I was very disappointed to find that apparantly the deadly invasion of earth was of no further interest to Mulder and Scully (it's not mentioned once, in fact) and that their friends Reyes and Doggett are no longer involved in their lives. Skinner makes an all too brief appearance, having been out of their lives also for what seems a fair bit of ... Read More:
