My daughter loves Peppa Pig, so I was planning to get it her for Christmas. I gave in and she had it early. I'm glad I did now!!
The Christmas episode it fantastic! Peppa, George and their friends ask for ONE present each, and that is what they receive. Great in these times, and a perfect way to tell your child that you don't have a bad Christmas just because you only get one gift!

This is by no means a laugh-out-loud joke-fest, it's much more subtle and character driven, this makes it very enjoyable to watch and I suspect I could watch this one a few times.
The reason why this one works, for me, is because all of the characters (arguably with the exception of Mark played by Jason Bateman) have redeeming characteristics. Also, they all seem quite real and therefore believable.
My only criticism is that maybe Juno could have kept the baby or at least explored that possibility. She was clearly mature enough - even if she was supposed to be 16 - and obviously had good family support (my favourite character was her Step Mum).
Also, the music was great and really added value to the ... Read More:

Along with a number of reviewers, I am joining in the chorus of disapproval that the song "The Love is Gone", which provides the emotional crux of the film, has been left out. OK so it's a bit cheesey, but it's also a key point in Scrooge's redemptive process and the part is so abruptly edited that it makes almost no sense. Back to the VHS, methinks, if the VCR is still working!

This is a staggeringly good piece of TV drama which has justifiably become a classic. It's hard to imagine any producer today taking the time to explore a novel in the way this adaptation does, a full 11 episodes which allow the viewer to luxuriate in the story and thoroughly explore the characters. There has always been debate over whether there was a mythological "Golden Age of TV", but I think the early 1980s saw something quite remarkable at Granada Studios, at least in the field of period adaptations, and Brideshead might just be the pinnacle.
Evelyn Waugh's novel is a heady evocation of time and place, as well as an exploration of spirituality, and the series captures all this with consummate skill, from the glorious period detail ... Read More:

Family guy started off as very good, but since season 4 it has gone very much down hill & this season now with more swearing, not really necessary, containing this is a new low, to me does not count as humour, there are some amusing moments, hence my 2 star rating, the Gene Kelly scene which was done very well cleverly, replacing Jerry the mouse with Stewie, but overall this cartoon, like The Simpsons, is running out of really funny, sarcastic, jokes, for what I would call toilet humour, which we are getting far too much of nowadays, & when you reach this you are finished. I will buy season 7, to see if it has improved, but only at a good price & I will not rush into buying it, but overall stick to seasons 1,2 & 3 for the best of this series ... Read More:

So the first two series were great. The radio series was great. They had energy, origionality, verve, were set in a world outside of our own. They had an awkward hero in Howard Moon that we could all laugh at and yet root for. Characters like Bob Fossil, Charlie, Old Greg and Milky Joe populated a world that was rarely not funny, interesting or different.
Series 3: Set in Camden, staring NOEL FEILDING!!!!!!!!.... oh yeah, and julien barrat... sort of. The bumbling hero is now the sidekick. all the old characters are re-run and the jokes are largely re-cycled, take crimping. A few mildly amusing moments, most of them involving howard moon 'its whats inside that counts' etc.
I mean I never liked the 'noel fielding show'... i like the mighty boosh. ... Read More:

The show is even better than I remembered, but beware of the extras, some of them contain spoilers, so save them for the end of each season.
Release Date December 01, 2008
Difficult to compare with a season show as it lacked the tense endings of each hour, but as a prequel one off, I enjoyed this when it was broadcast although it was spoilt by all the ads, so the DVD especially the extra length will be worth the purchase.
It was interesting how characters were being introduced with the US part of the story, and you can see how things might develop with Season 7. I suspect that the new storyline will be somewhat removed from the ones from the past seasons (no middle east terrorists etc).

Be warned this film is hardly anything like the Spiderwick Chronicles books. My son and I have read all the Spiderwick Chronicles and we found this screen adaptation very disappointing. Where's the dwarves, elves, dragons , the palace of trash and the incident at the school where Jared first meets Mulgarath ? It seems to me that they tried to make the film as cheap as possible using mostly cgi, hence no dwarves and elves and tried to save money by using ,mainly one set (the house and the estate it's on). We also found the relationships of the characters had been changed. Why? There was nothing wrong with the supportive relationship between Jared, Simon and Mallory that they have in the books which you only see later on in the film.
The film could easily have been another half an hour ... Read More:
