The video of Take On Me would not play on either of my (XP) machines for some reason. (No info is provided about the video to help). Otherwise the music's fine. Just me?

A-Ha was Norway`s biggest selling act. This globally popular trio was known for it`s innovative videos and stage shows. This album is one of their best of the top singles starting with 28 September 1985 `Take on me`, which reached number 2 in the UK charts. All 16 tracks are recorded in ADD, of which 15 have been chart toppers, on this album it contains 3 Remixed versions for your pure enjoyment.
If you do not have A-Ha in your collection then this is the classic album to buy and you will wish that you had brought it earlier.
All Dee-Jays should have this monster album in there record collection.

This is the third album released by A-Ha since their reuniting in 2000.
These thirteen tracks open with the catchy and subliminal 'Celice'. The next several songs build like a symphony to a crescendo that climaxes with the No. 1 'Holy Ground' - this is never quite matched afterwards. The third track of the album 'Cozy Prisons' has the usual beautifully melancholic intro. so imitated by Keane, and as many A-Ha tracks before it. 'Birthright' which precedes the crescendo to the climax of 'Holy Ground' I spoke of earlier is quite 'euphoric' in its beautiful melody - a sound that can only be created by the wonderful vocals and creation that makes up A-Ha. Then, there is a distinct change in style and theme with 'Over The Treetops' which ... Read More:

Ok, I'll admit it, I love A-Ha, even now. This album was released when I was about 5 and my sister, 5 years older than me, had this on cassette and I can remember we both played it to death, with the result that listening to it now conjures up some really lovely memories of my childhood. But anyway.....yes, there are some undoubtedly cheesy 80s songs on here such as (which I think has been mentioned before) 'The Blue Sky' and 'Love is Reason' but even now, the classics such as 'Take on Me' and 'The Sun Always Shines on TV' still bring a tingle to the spine because they have been really well produced and there is a great use of synthesisers in there (do I detect a Fairlight in there somewhere - ultra ultra expensive early sampling synth with a really ... Just heard this album again this evening for the first time in a few years and remembered how good it is.Great songs, some of A-ha`s best and also great sound too.None of this loudness war crap here .Louder than A-ha`s eighties albums maybe, but sensibily loud with the dynamic range retained.
I remember buying my local Virgin`s store only copy in June 2000 on the day of release and I had to ask for it too!A-ha were back in obscurity then and had been for many years which is a shame as quality like this is hard to come by.
It easily beats in my view anything I `ve heard this year or last.
This was 'A-Ha's' third album - and what an album!!
This was at a time when each of their releases would be even better than their preceding one! This included two of their best singles; 'Stay On These Roads' and 'You Are The One' - both of which I played to death, and should have reached number one! There isn't one single bad track on this masterpiece, and 'A-Ha' had become well and truly established. One of their best pieces of material on this album is the lovely 'There's Never A Forever Thing' - and with Morten's voice, and the reassuring lyrics, I always found this song extremely comforting when going through bad times.
This release definitely confirmed 'A-Ha's' arrival, and that they were here to stay!

Major Sky had 13 songs- 10 good and 3 fillers. This has 15 songs and every one is good. The songs blend into each other very well and have a richer texture than their earlier stuff. If this is not their best album, it is definately their most impressive. Highlights include Dragonfly which is a very simple yet fantastic song and Cannot Hide. Harket sounds like Simon Le Bon at the start of this. His vocals throughout are fantastic. Note the subtle way he sings 'twice ' on the titletrack. Oranges and Appletrees has some naff lyrics but its great music. Furuholmen makes a big songwriting statement on this album and his triple blast tour de force at the start of Analogue suggests he didn't lose the momemtum he developed writing songs for this album and Major Sky. This goes on ... Read More:
This was the time when A-Ha took an 'odd' turn in their career; their Singles would no longer have the same impact upon the charts (a couple of my personal favourites 'Early Morning' and 'I Call Your Name' would not even make the Top 40 - the latter would have made a better 'edited' 7" Single, and a sensational extended saxophone 12" edit) and also their 12" releases were no longer 'extended' versions. This did not help their sales. Despite this, I still got very excited upon new album releases, and their album material up until this point would remain the same quality - perhaps with the exception of the two tracks; 'Sycamore Leaves' and 'Cold River', which to any astute fan would be the hint as to what style A-Ha were to take when releasing their following flop album (in ... Twenty two years on this is still the best record I have ever bought, I own it on LP Tape and CD and still never tire of it . My favourite of all A-ha's records although they've made some great ones since. A classic
