Well seeing as nobody else has reviewed this yet, at least after it came out, I thought I would. I loved the first album, so first off I'd say if you are already a fan then defo get this one too!!
It's fairly similar to the first album, but not too samey. I thought every track on "Same Old..." was great, there are a few not-so-good ones on this, however, hence only 4 stars.
Best tracks for me are "Navigate me" , "Marriage to millions" and "Time".

Cold Water Music

I first heard of Aim through one of his tracks being on Tony Hawk Pro Skater, and I was instantly hooked.

He combines mellow beats, ambient sounds and some awesome MCs to produce truly stunning, intelligent hiphop that will get you nodding along within seconds. If you've ever grooved along to Rjd2, DJ Shadow or Nightmares on Wax then you will enjoy this, if not - where have you been?! Aim produces perfect laid back, summer evening hiphop that never fails to please.

Words can't do justice to how good an album this is, just buy it and find out for yourself! I 100% promise you will not regret it.

I'm a huge fan of Aim, and rushed out to get this album when it dropped. I was pleased to see that his laid back, head-bobbable beats are there in abundance, but hugely disappointed to find he'd left out the MC's! What's hiphop without an MC?!

To be fair, however, the artist doing most of the vocals is very talented, and she complements the tunes perfectly with her soulful, almost jazz-like style. But it's a style I'm not fond of, and don't immediately associate with Aim. Had I listened to the album before purchasing I may have reconsidered and saved my cash for another day.

This is a good album in its own right, but it's a good album in a different style to that which I thought I was getting, based on past experience. ... Read More:

The Same Old Blood Rush With a New Touch

AMAZING album! Not necessarily the kind of stuff I would normally listen to but insanely catchy, and all the tracks are different.
All the songs are excellent, "moan" being the worst (but still good!), highlights being "teasing to please", "finger twist and split" and "risque".
BUY IY!!

Hinterland

What is all this speak of hinterland being inadequate? True, cold water music is a hard album to follow up, but i think hinterland is a match for it in all aspects. The vocal tracks on offer are brilliant, kate rodgers latest contribution far better than her last effort on cold water music while stephen jones delivers a brilliant falsetto to make a beautiful song out of good disease. Equally, the rap offerings shine with diamond d and the souls of mischief providing tight rhymes - all this over the usual dope beats AIM so often provides. Admittedly some of the instrumentals do drag on a little but that is not enough to convince me this album deserves no less than five stars.

If you love AIM, you'll love this. It's very smooooth, and the tunes are a perfect mix of up tempo, and Sunday summer chill out tunes. If you get the chance to buy, do so!!.As although this is not on vinyl this will be sort after by people with music taste long after being deleted . Sweet music to listen, laugh, and love too!!
