The first time I ever came across Alanis was when I saw the video for "You Ought Know" on VH1 and loved it instantly! I never know who sang the song until my friend bought this CD and told me that I would love this!

And there's where my love addiction and my obsession for Alanis began! I can't express how much I love this album it is one of my all time favourites and even 13 years on I still listen to this record!

If you don't own this album you are missing out and I can't highly recommend this album enough! Lyrically this one of the best album ever! Alanis is a musical genius here lyrics are very clever, witty and catchy!

Flavors of Entanglement

Alanis is still a classic singer/songwriter, with her twisted lyrics that are very talented placed in songs - but this cd left me a little confused of which way this cd was heading. It borders on the angriness of past releases but somehow holds back on the true Morissette power. OK Underneath, which is being criminally ignored here in the UK, should be a massive hit and is the best thing here, and is classic Alanis but nothing comes close to it on this cd, Other tracks worth a listen here are Straitjacket, Versions Of Violence and Not As We, but this cd begins to sound same over all the way through. Unplugged

"Alanis Unplugged" is one of the best of these stripped down live albums that have become more common in the last couple of decades. I would probably have to go back to the one by 10,000 Maniacs for the last time I thought an artist came off better live and unplugged than they did in the studio. In large measure that has to do with Morissette reigning in her vocal affectations while singing most of these songs, which benefit from being stripped down so that the personal lyrics are emphasized more. With Morissette it is always about cryptic lyrics and moody melodies, but rally being able to hear the words and the way she vocalizes these songs in a more intimate situation makes them more approachable (e.g., "That I Would Be Good"). Supposed Former Infatuation Junkie

Years ago I had Jagged Little Pill and listened to it so much I wore it out! At the time when Supposed Former Infatuation Junkie came out I, unfortunately, listened to the critics who said it wasn't as good etc... 10 years later I rediscovered Alanis and thought I'd give SFIJ a go too. I've listened to it many times now and I'm well and truly hooked.

I ask myself why I didn't buy it years ago but then I'm not sure I'd have enjoyed it as much and appreciated it's difference to JLP. It truly is a wonderful album with every song a pleasure to listen too. Yes it's not as rocky as JLP or as angry but as a previous reviewer says it's more melodic with some beautiful lyrics. Alanis Morissette never fails to produce brilliant music that one can not help but sing and dance along to; this album is no exception. With fantastic tracks such as "Doth I Protest Too Much", "Knees Of My Bees" and "Eight Easy Steps", this is an album that can be listened to over and over, getting better with every time. Highly recommended for long term Alanis Morissette Fans and those who are just discovering her music.

Under Rug Swept

To me this has to be Alanis' must cohesive album, it is consistently strong. I have loved all her other albums, though most have one or two tracks that are weaker than the rest. This album has many beautiful moments of reflection as well as few great angst anthems.

It also seemed to have a strong ongoing theme whereas some albums seem to contain songs that bare no relation to one another which is no bad thing but just adds to the strength of this album. I strongly recommend!

The Collection [CD + DVD]

I am a huge admirer of Alanis's artistry, and this latest offering is yummy. The extras on the DVD are excellent, and allow the veiwer to share in alanis's journey, of whom we are all a part. I loved 'lets fall in love' and the beautiful and haunting 'mercy'. A humble and genuine dvd/cd collection.
