I Looked through my archives of old vids and discovered that my love for Uk music had meant that i had taped SFA Tracks for years without realising or bothering to notice who they were.In 2005 i put together a mix of the best of Uk music and wanted to top it up with all the 4 Countries.What about those welsh geezers,Super furry something somethings.So off we go and find any old vid and it was called Rings around the World.Wow what a track what a band,i still ignored the band though.A Slight interest in Juxtapozed with U as it seemed interesting.A Few months later i watch a film called Snow Cake and sadly when the Girl dies in the film they play a track called Hello Sunshine by,you guessed it,SFA.Isn`t that the Welsh band again i ask myself,not ... The Very Best Of Eric Burdon & The Animals

No, you will not find songs like House of the Rising Sun on this CD, but you will find some more hippy sounding songs and not as blusey. Well their still are some blues numbers like the brilliant 'I put a spell on you', which sung in Burdon's wonderful voice just sounds absolutely wonderful. Also a very clever version of Randy Newman's "Mama told me not to come" illustrates their ability to make well-known songs sound their own. The track "Gin house blues" obviously suggesting his later problems with drink. A good half of the tracks are actually written by Eric Burdon himself, which can explain the fact that the tracks have a more phsychedelic sound to them. Tracks like 'Sky Pilot' are not very taxing on the brain to work out what they are about!

Strawberry Jam

I saw Animal Collective in Summer 2007, after falling in love with such an original and mesmerising sound and was blown away by their live performance. Little did I know that what we heard that evening was to become Strawberry Jam a few months later, and what an exciting arrangement of music it is. Throwing noises and rhythmic sounds with a subtle electronic upbeat style AC have done it again, creating in my opinion one of the best albums of last year.
You just have to hear the opening of Peacebone to understand what I mean. Overall a completely otherworldly sensual experience with the highlights of Reverend Green, Fireworks and of course the magnificent Peacebone. Rings Around the World

Summer 2001. I had fallen in love with SFA long ago. But this happened to be the first release I had got on release day (have got every one ever since). I was in the middle of my GCSE exams. I got up early and waited outside HMV from around 8.45 to purchase the CD and DVD. I think this album changed my life. I knew this band were special but I didn't realise every song on this album would stir every emotion in me. I will never forget the summer of 2001. I left school. I heard one of the best albums ever. Buy it, Just buy it. Listen to it. It may take a few listens but you will cherish it for life. Believe me. It is one of the best and most adventurous albums EVER. Impossible to define a genre. Thank you. And trust me.

Feels

Feels further confirms that not only does Animal Collective make music different from anything else that's out there - these folks are also quite good at it. If listening to each Animal Collective release is a little bit like having the Collective guide you through a primal forest, Here Comes the Indian is like venturing deep into the Heart of Darkness, and Sung Tongs let a little bit of light shine through the trees. Listening to Feels, then, is like settling down in a sunny clearing; all the soothing sounds of the forest still reach your ears, but this time, Animal Collective won't get lost along the way.

Hey Venus!

I've had this record quite a while now. It's not been doing anything for me, and I've been waiting, giving it chance, thinking surely one day it's going to hit me. This morning I've decided it's time to make my judgement. By no means is it a bad record, it's just that I don't like it. The Super Furries are still being fairly original, but for some reason there's something missing here. Something that's preventing Hey Venus from being one of those eclectic, sunny masterpieces that we've come to expect.

Yes, it's quite short, though I don't know whether that impacts on my enjoyment of the record. I'm usually very much in favour of quality over quantity. For some reason the brevity of Hey Venus prevents it being one of those musical journeys that other Super ... Read More:

I am writing this because I have recently fully realised the beauty, majesty, and utter brilliance of Here Comes The Indian!!

I've been going through a bit of an Animal Collective phase over the last week or two and last night i was listening to here comes the indian, and it all made sense! Fuzzy Logic

I'm a huge fan of bands debut albums. Whether it be Oasis, The Clash, Weezer or R.E.M. There's something really pure and unspoilt about that first effort that artists make. From the heart without celebrity to marr the music. Super Furry's is no exception. Fuzzy logic rocks along in a wonderful dream like scape that they will never recapture in any of they're follow ups. Not to say that they haven't made other quality albums. They sure have! But please buy this one, it's outstanding and stands the test unlike many 90's albums. 5 stars*****
