They plod along like a third rate pub band with all the musical inspiration of a brain dead gnat. NOBODY is going to be inspired to become a lead guitarist by listening to this lot plod along.

Favourite Worst Nightmare

The acne ridden 'rockers' return for yet more monotonous bile. Is it me, or do ALL their songs sound the same? 'Brianstorm' is possibly the most uninspiring piece of music I've heard to date. They should try something new if they are to get any respect from me. Why not try orchestras or real singalong anthems, while still keeping the 'rock' tag. If these guys seriously want to become the new Oasis, then they will have to put some imagination and emotion into their songs, rather than this... well I was going to say music, but I just can't call it that.

However, saying that, this isn't exactly their 'Morning Glory', is it?

Favourite Worst Nightmare

Great record sounds even better than the album in my opinion! Has a much nicer sound to it on viynl as well rather than the CD!
Buy it definetely!

Leave Before the Lights Come on

This is the first song to be made by the monkeys since their debut album and it is a cracker!
This should have been on the album and is fantastic live.

The B-sides are not as good but still worth a few listens. Buy this for the title track alone!

Teddy Picker

The B-sides mean this single is definitely worth buying. The pair-up with Richard Hawley on "Bad Woman" is great, as is "Death Ramps", but "Nettles" is awesome, with Alex Turner at his best! Teddy Picker never grows old either despite having listened to it a million times, and is up there with Brianstorm as the best tune from Favourite Worst Nightmare

This is worth it for "Temptation" alone. Why is it that other band's lyrics just pass me by, while the Arctics' words just grab me by the lapel and make me listen? When Dizzee Rascal pops up at the end of "Temptation" and lets rip over the oh-so-tight punk/funk rhythm, it just makes perfect sense... Absolutely brilliant.

Fluorescent Adolescent

As with all Arctic Monkeys Singles the contain great B sides which are non album tracks. Its unusual for a band to pay so much attention to their B-side tracks especially now that more people download but the Arctic Monkeys consistently do with ALL of their singles. Oh and a great A side too, lyrics too spot on for a twenty year old to come up with!
