Release Date July 06, 1998
I got this album about six months ago, liked it immediately and like it even more now. I love every song, although this is not the full version - which I got and think is much better cos it has some extra tracks. I think this is easily one of the best albums i have ever heard, ever! I recommend this to anyone who loves good music!
Release Date October 15, 2007
Another limp wristed sappy American band who's vocals suggest that they're not even close to getting over it, whatever it is.
The second track(and perhaps nine)is ok simply by virtue of it's dynamic shifts/guitar line but the rest is tiresome, immature and a little pathetic. These are grown men, singing like they still haven't got over that 'high school love'. How many more bands can there be that employ some whinny voiced singer and write songs about there bad fortune.
Bands like this make acts like Pete Doherty look good.
Also, it sound's like the shins, without any of the stylishly crafted songs.
Release Date April 29, 1996
Before watching Sharpe I had never heard of John Tams, and quite frankly my music collection was the poorer for it! This album is a fantastic mix of score from the shows and traditional folk songs of the period performed by Tams and his mate Barry Coope with an amazing guest performance from the wonderful Kate Rusby. A must have for all fans of John Tams, Kate Rusby, Sharpe and great British folk music!
Release Date October 06, 2003
I've always enjoyed choral music but never really been sure what it was I was listening to, apart from the really well known tunes, some of which, shamefully, I recognised from adverts or films. Many well known ones are included here of course, such as "O Fortuna" from Carmina Burana, the "Chorus of the Hebrew Slaves", the "March of the Toreadors" from Carmen; "Ode to Joy", "Zadok the Priest" and of course chunks of "The Messiah".
This double CD with well over 2 hours of music and 33 samples is the perfect way to discover (and put a name to!) other beautiful pieces of music. I was particularly pleased to hear Allegri's "Miserere" which has always sent goose bumps up and down my spine, and the "Humming Chorus" from Madame Butterfly.
Release Date March 31, 2001
The tracks on this cd are excellent and well worth the money. I get worried about the packaging of this sort of disc though because it reminds me of Tesco's attempt to sell wine to the masses by renaming a mediocre chablis as 'Good with meat' or whatever. If this was called 'Fine Opera' or 'An Opera Sampler' then I'd be a lot happier but the dumb approach of 'The Only Opera Album You'll Ever Need' makes me cringe. Once again though: the music is very good and the performances are excellent on the whole.

Steve Miller was one of the highlights of any school or Uni disco in the mid to late seventies for us rockers. All the classics and more - they sound as good now as they did then - smooth production, great rhythm, and a back beat to make you boogie.
Turn up the volume and tear up the carpet.
Release Date January 22, 1991
I have the first 6 or 7 albums (on vinyl) by Robert Cray and I believe this is the one to buy first. Possibly the best known songs are the title track and 'Smoking Gun' but really they're all great, especially the first five tracks. He can definitely play but it's the singing and the song writing which come to the fore.
Release Date October 01, 1999
A tremendous collection of each British Army Regiment's own 'signature' tune.
From well known marches like 'The Radetsky' to lesser known tunes like 'The days we went a gipsying', they are all beautifully played by the Band of the Coldstream Guards in quicktime pace, ( 116 beats per minute ).
Together with Vol. 2, these great recordings will turn your living room into Horse Guards Parade !
