Childrens Christmas Party

The music is not bad but, I was looking for a CD with music sang only by children. This CD is also sung by adults and I did not like that. If you are looking for children CDs, I would not recommend this CD. Also, this is not a suitable CD for those who want to find Christmas music to teach to foreign children. Some of these songs are far too difficult for foreign children under eight years old to learn.

Lark Rise Revisited

Flora Thompson's novels have been published and republished and Lark Rise to Candleford has even been done as "The Illustrated---" and the "Recipe Book".
Plus there was I think a stage play and definitely the album by the Albion Band
Shades of The Country Diary of an Edwardian Lady which was a TV series in the 70s and the recent series bore little resemblance to Flora Thompson's life from the 2 or 3 episodes I saw before I gave up.
Flora Thompson has her own website-something she's only aware of in Heaven-and as most people know the "Laura" in her books is really her.
I read the book years ago and its one of the few non illustrated ones I managed to get through

Old English Nursery Rhymes

I bought this CD based on the rave reviews it had received and because there was such a long list of songs. However the style of the music is not quite what i was expecting. I am no music buff but the style of the singing is more Irish folk/light opera music than jolly children's music. The words of some songs are not very clear and hard to sing along to. Also, the music sounds quite samey due to the style of the two singers. If you are a music pro this might be for you but if, like me, you wanted something simple and jolly to entertain your child and sing along to this is not the right CD.

I first heard this when it was released, in the UK, on Sunset Records, a budget label who also released the Bonzo Dog Band albums etc. This was one of the albums that nearly everybody I knew at the time had in their collection. In the late 1970s when Punk and second hand record shops arrived in Dundee this was one of the albums that people couldn't give away. In that era peopel were casting off their previous music collections and getting rid of anything Prog Rock or Hippy, this album falling into the latter category.

I deeply resented being told that I shouldn't like all the stuff I liked before so I clung on my own judgement and still consider this as a classic, not just of Beefheart's career but I would put it in my top 10 1960s ... Read More:

I've been a fan of the Bonzo's since I was given a cassette when I was about 14 of their album The Doughnuts In Granny's Greenhouse, and managed to find a copy of Keysham a few years ago.

There's very little about them on the internet, view remaining pieces of original footage from the 60's and so this 40th Anniversay concert was something I was always going to purchase and that I did.

Despite the poor reviews a few people have given it, which I feel although unfair understand their complaints I do feel that this is a better DVD than their reviews give credit for.

To start off the negatives are that the sound quality is rather low, and the camera sometimes pans in too quickly you have to bare in mind though that ... Read More:
