I remember buying this album not long after it was released but I really don't remember what my reasons were for buying Strikes, as Blackfoot were a band I didn't know much about; I guess somebody said something to me and that was enough to convince me. So whoever that person was, thanks so very much! Strikes has been in my consciousness since way back then, and thank god for that, because this is simply an amazingly good album, chock full of well written songs with tunes that will go through you faster than a knife through warm butter. Every song is simply excellent, with Left Turn On A Red Light being not only my favourite on this album, I think it's the best song Blackfoot ever wrote, and compares more than favourably with much lesser but ... Highway Song Live

Every so often a live album comes along that makes you glad to be alive. This is one of them. Recorded live in Britain, it's guaranteed to put a smile on your face. Blistering guitars, thumping drums, solid bass and Rick's soaring Southern vocals all combine to put this in the top five greatest ever live albums in my opinion. And, I was there!

If you have never listened to blackfoot then this is the perfect beginner album as it has amazing songs on it and gives you a good idea of what they sound like, a good place to start before exploring their full album back catalogue which is truly brilliant.

Marauder

I haven't purchased any of Blackfoot's back catalogue since I first heard Strikes when it came out way back then. I loved that album and always harboured a desire to get more of Blackfoot's material. So here then, we have Marauder, which I purchased not too long ago, and yes, it's everything I expected it to be. Full of cracking tunes, from the foot-stomping like Good Morning and Too Hard To Handle, to the wistful and wonderful, like Searchin', Diary Of A Working Man, and Payin' For It. Yes, I absolutely agree with previous reviewers, no fillers here, just chock full of fantastic songs, so don't dilly-dally, if you haven't heard Blackfoot before and you love your rock music, this and their other material should be winging their way into your CD collection ... An excellent album. Southern rock at its best. One of their later albums and so less raw than Tomcattin or Strikes but every song rocks! I love this. Buy it and dont miss out.

For me Blackfoot has to have Ricky Medlocke.I don't blame them for wanting to continue but that guy was their heart,soul,lead guitar and voice.I saw the original lineup way back at Donington in 1981 and they blew every single band off-stage that day including AC/DC.This dvd will get you toe-tapping but unfortunately thats about all the live audience were doing too...i also didn't like the Dean Guitars onstage promotion drive either.Blackfoot should have Mr Medlocke screaming out in his full length denim coat and his vintage Gibson Explorer slung real low.

Tomcattin'

Who remembers Blackfoot now? Hair, beards, denim and old fashioned rock 'n roll: everything present and correct but peaking in the late seventies and early eighties when Van Halen were rewriting the sound of American rock they seemed for a long time an atavistic leftover untouched by passing fads - dinosaurs that rocked like men.

That's a big shame because Blackfoot were the business - old school blues based Southern rock like a cranked up Lynyrd Skynyrd and this album is a great example of their powerful and tasteful sound.
