I agree with most of the other reviews that this is the best Blonde album. Although I've got a lot of the tracks already, my existing CD (The Complete Picture) is over a decade old, so I was after a brighter sound.

This remastered version certainly delivers the goods. It sound bright and sharp, without being over-engineered, a problem I found with Greatest Hits: Sight And Sound, where the band seemed to be playing seperately then put together.

Amazons's bargain price is the icing on the cake.

performance strengh in all aspects,if you have not been there or you have not seen her and the group feel the magic interpretation of the times at that era and since.one could go to the realms of fantasy about blondie,that would be false.they are the most,genuine,the best.

Greatest Hits: Sight & Sound [CD + DVD]

The CD is disappointing with awful remixes of In The Flesh and Good Boys, but the DVD more than makes up for it. It's the Best Of Blondie plus 3 new tracks but without the annoying taxi driver bits, so you actually get to see the complete videos.

Atomic : The Very Best of Blondie

For some reason known only to the record company, the tracks on this compilation are not in chronological order. The album thus opens with 1979s synth-rock track Atomic and then moves back one year for the equally electronic but far more catchy Heart Of Glass, the pop and dance classic.

Track 3, Sunday Girl, also comes from the excellent Parallel Lines album, whilst Call Me (theme from American Gigolo) is another electronic dance track that has not aged well because it lacks a good tune. Next comes The Tide Is High, a lilting reggae number from 1980s Autoamerican. Denis takes us back to the brilliant 1977 album Plastic Letters, whilst Dreaming and Union City Blue come from 1980s less than inspiring Eat To The Beat album that also contains Atomic.

The Best of Blondie

If the number of times I listen to it each year means anything, "The Best of Blondie" is the best greatest hits CD in my collection. Yes, the New Wave classics like "Dreaming," "Hanging on the Telephone," "One Way Or Another" and "Call Me" are here, but like with most artists the songs I really seem to enjoy are those great songs that never got a lot of air play, like "Atomic," "Sunday Girl" and my personal favorite, "(I'm Always Touched By Your) Presence Dear." Yes, it would be nice to have a bit more representation from the punk stage of vocalist Debbie Harry and guitarist Chris Stein (e.g., "I'm Not Living in the Real World"), but you do get the proto-rap hit "Rapture." What else can I say, except that pretty much everybody I know has this CD and loves it.

It's a great album but i think should only buy this if you don't have the original version or any of the other versions only if you don't have cos if you it's the rip off edition overall i rate this five stars cos all the original tracks are good and the remixes are dull if you want good blondie remixes buy The Remix Project.
