My knowledge of classical music is not so advanced, but it is a breed of music you must learn to appreciate if you get what I mean. I am to keen to expand my knowledge of classical music, so buying this album is a great starting point. Classical music is a breed of music which existed long time ago and is really old fashioned, but a real pleasure to listen to. It is very much instrumental orientated. You can hear the piano, violin or the flute with their distinctive sounds in the background.

Only a snob can be aghast at the mere existence of Classic FM. It may be easier to excuse people's protestations at the idea of putting classical music into any form of list (although it is a lot of fun).

Who can really complain when you have, on one album, 30 of the most beautiful and inspiring peices of music ever written. As an adjunct to this is the inevitability of these mesmerising pieces becoming so tired and mundane after their inclusion on every Best Of CD, every car advert, every daily Classic FM schedule!

The song I assume everyone below is talking about - the one they heard on TV- is Oltre la Tempesta... what a song! It is one of the finest tenor arias I have very heard. Licitra and Alvarez have brought classical music to a new, modern audience. Hair raising songs like Maria and Fantasma D'amore are two of the best examples. Perfectly untied voices and a unique track of songs make this one of the best Tenor albums in my collection. If you are reading this and doin't own this CD... BUY IT NOW!!!
