With this and six wheels on my wagon iam surely impressed by flukes style. Its funky,its stylish its all so asurd just like the tune. First all i bought both this album because i thought asurd was so good so tested there skills.Here we are with very unique album i feel everybody will enjoy. No sticking to certain styles or modes. One those album you can listen too and still feel it gets better each time perfect get it!

Would have been an awesome record but for the dreadful and frankly embarrassing vocals, the man sounds like some sort of pervy heavy breather. Shame really.

Firstly i heard of fluke from classic track Absurd on higher state euphoria which impressed me alot.So i thought ill get two albums by them.Oh yes funky asurd style with the spacey weird sound though out the cd.I dont know really what sort style it is it sort blends techno manily and electric syths excellent weird and oh so absurd.Every track has something special with some excellent vocal and styles buy this cd fluke is the stuff buy it.

Progressive History X

Talk about under rated .Fluke were a dance band who never quite caught on with the rave generation to the degree that bands like Orbital, Leftfield and Underworld did , yet for me Fluke have a back catalogue that easily eclipses anything by any of those bands.
"Progressive History X" is really a collection of the various twelve inch singles they have released over the years and appear to be in strict chronological order. To be truly representative they would have to include every disparate mix (Fluke tend to put four or five different versions of the same track on every release) but that would stretch this collection out to quadruple album length. Not a bad album, I don't own 'Six Wheels On My Wagon' but I do own 'Risotto' and 'Puppy'. With this album you can tell there is a slower pace, and is a very ambient album. This album may seem short with only 8 tracks, but they're all pretty long. In my opinion, 'Bullet' 'O.K' and 'Squirt are the best tracks here, and I like the mix of 'Squirt' better on this album than the one in 'Risotto'. 'Squirt' is on par for funny lyrics with such tracks as 'Frontier Psychiatrist' from 'The Avalanches', and 'Perpetual Dawn' by 'The Orb', and the ambient sound works better with it, however the version of 'Setback' is better on 'Risotto' because here it gets a bit boring. O.K. is another ambient track, however is probably the fastest track and probably the best on this ... Read More:

Atom Bomb [CD 1]

Fluke outdid themselves when they created the tracks 'Atom Bomb'
This 4track CD Single goes to show that sometimes, the best remixes come from those who created the original.

1. Atomix 1 - The original: A Big Beat Masterpiece, Atom Bomb is one Helluva powerful dance tune. Combining Breaks, Acid, and Vocals to produce an amazing anthemic tune.

2. Atomix 5 - Highly similar to Atomix 4, this 140bpm Trance tune is ok as a track, but not so great as a Remix of the original.

3. Atomix 6 - This is a House Dubmix of the original, and definetly worthy of a release. Also, you may find that one of the sounds used hints towards The Prodigy's ''Poison''...

WHAT A FANTASTIC SINGLE!!

This, for any fluke fans of recent, 'Absurd' was definetly the defining moment of their ability.

1. Whitewash Edit - Features in the first "Tomb Raider" film, and really brings the house down. Filled with Breaks, Bass, Riffs, Sparks, and all that. Not to mention a classic tale of the sordid affairs of the most innocent of characters... You gotta listen to this.

2. Lanslide Mix - A marvellous Dub mix of the original, from the guys themselves. Also it has similarites to the Album version...

3. Headrillax Dub Mix - The greatest remix of Absurd, This track blows the whole thing out of proportion and into another realm of Dance. Wow.

Formed in the late 80,s Fluke , two of the members Jon Fugler and Mike Bryant had previously played in punk bands revelling in the names The Leaky Radiators and The Lay Figures. Flukes line up over the years has been as fluid as their heady electronic music . Fluke are a difficult band to pin down to genre specifics.
