I'm surprised this has got such superb reviews and bought it on the strength of these.
I've previously bought Messages Personnels and Comment Te Dire Adieu which have some of the tracks from this album and whilst they're still good on this album, I find them much harsher recordings of the songs. If I'd heard this album first, perhaps I'd have given it 4 or 5 stars too, but having listened to the other recordings of these tracks, I haven't ended up listening to this album beyond the first few attempts. I wouldnn't give it less than 3 stars as it's still a good album, just a disappointing recording of the songs. If you're considering buying this, it may be worth comparing tracks from the other albums in somewhere like HMV where you ... Read More:

If you are to buy just one Francoise Hardy album buy this. She is at her absolute peak here and it's a proper album, quality all the way through.
Her early songs are beautiful in their simplicity and her work today is a good as ever but this is the one where she couldn't have been better. The title song has been in my brain forever!

This is a wonderful album and like the other reviewer says - it's hard to imagine that a lot of it's 30-40 years old. Most enjoyable and currently my favourite pick of my CD collection
Release Date January 17, 2000
I adore this album and it's been very heavily played since I purchased it. I personally prefer Messages Personnels although this is certainly still worthy of 5 stars. It's a very soft, modern sounding recording and excellent background music for when I'm reading.

In the late 1970s Ms Hardy wrote that this had been her favourite effort. From approx 1974, it was a joint effort with the Brazilian guitarist/singer Tuca (no other information about him is known to me). I believe that, by this time, she was able to secure her own record contract as the owner of her sessions; if so, she'd own the recording master tapes to them. Tuca's occasional vocal dueting aside, this is mainly a partnership of his solo guitar and her voice, which reaches from an unadorned sparseness to whimsical familiarity. The lack of conventional instrumental backing on all but two tracks serves to reinforce what she was aiming for and the result is still wonderful 30 years on. She took a risk with this rather arty project as it was not radio ... Read More:
