The 2 FF albums are the best albums of the 21st century, so far. Catchy tunes, crisp guitar/vocals/drums, no dud tracks. Some of the lyrics aren't up to much, but you can't win them all!

I bought this as a gift for my niece, since I wanted her to be educated about classical music as she was on her way to college. Ended up buying two copies as I found I loved it so much. Normally I like to pick and choose my orchestras, composers, and conductors, but this collection has jujst about everything. Also, I'd never bought some of the more "popular" items (Strauss and Grieg) as I'd heard them a million times, but now I have them and the performances are all great. This truly has a smattering of it all, and if you're not a classical music lover, it's bound to turn you on to the stuff.

The Fallen

The Fallen is the best song in the second FF album "You could have it So Much Better". But the good thing about this single is that it not only includes The Fallen but a group of new and exciting new songs. L.Wells is a sweet departure where FF trademark sound is mixed with a Celtic melody. More unexpected is Jeremy Fraser an eerie and ghostly ballad about the weird murder of a boy. In the 7", there is an interesting instrumental called "Brown Onions", a catchy song and another brilliant departure. The Justice remix is great, too. After heard all these songs I'm really interested in FF future.

I was curious to see if Franz Ferdinand could top their fantastic first album. I had no reason to worry... this album is as good as, if not better, than their first.

Their sound has matured so much since their debut album. I love the effective use of the rhythm section in their new songs. Everything is tighter somehow. You can feel the energy that makes this band so good live. The lyrics are wonderful especially in 'The Fallen' and 'Outsiders'. It's good to see Franz experimenting with different styles too... from pop 'Do you want to', to ballads 'Eleanor put your boots on', even some dance 'Outsiders'.

This is a fantastic album from start to finish. Well worth buying.

Believe the hype, it is a wonderful listenable album which I belive will have an enduring long term appeal. This vinyl disk will be one I pull out of the collection for a long time to come.
The Killers come close-ish in style, but FF have an edge and variety of style which take them to a totally different level of quality.
