Release Date July 23, 2007
It just wouldn't be a Garbage release if it didn't come with a delay. Almost 3 years after a Best Of was announced, it finally saw the light of day earlier this year. Many fans speculated that the delay was the result of Warner putting their work in to make a comprehensive set for the fans - rumours of complete b-sides and music video collections, as well as a live CD/DVD box set began to surface. The end result can't help but leave any long-term Garbage fan under-whelmed and confused about the 3 year gap.
The bonus disc of remixes is, bar a few exceptions, a waste of a perfectly good blank CD that would have been better suited to home a selection of their 40-odd b-sides. There are occasionally some genuinely cool re-workings - ... Read More:

My wife has recently turned me into a Garbage fan, so I don't have a lot of history with the band. I definitely have liked what I have heard, though, so I checked out Bleed Like Me and it is a fantastic CD. Shirley Manson's vocals are blistering when necessary, soft when appropriate, and sometimes enhanced for greater effect. The distortion given to it in "Why Do You Love Me" when she accuses her lover of sleeping with a friend of hers really adds to the torn feeling she obviously has, being in love with this man yet angry that he's cheating on her.
The CD really rocks, with the occasional rock ballad to give variety. The songs touch on the foibles of relationships as well as society ("Sex is not the Enemy" and "Bleed Like Me" being ... Read More:

When i saw this album my friend recommended it; i wasnt sure. After all, it had the Nirvana connection and i expected the same rubbish rehashed tunes Cobain traded on. I was amazed at the depth and variation of the tracks Vig and co created. Queer plodded along but punched everything in its way, then Only Happy When It Rains comes along, mixing morbid Goth with punk rock and working.
Vow and Stupid Girl climbed the charts and the album was played to death. Catching them at Brixton Acedemy was even better as the live material was fantastic. For a producer and two session musicians they backed Shirley Manson like seasoned professionals.
Garbage 2.0 wasnt bad, but the crying shame is that they have never equalled this impressive debut.

I came across Garbage about 4 years ago when i was 17. They are now one of my favourite bands.
This is a great album. I personally had to listen to it a few times before i got into it because their sound was so different. So if you don't find yourself instantly grabbed give it a chance :) 5 shiny stars!

How can this album have so few reviews? I'm astounded! I remember when I first heard a selection of tracks from the record on Radio 1 prior to its release. Quite justifiably I had expectations of something similar to `Garbage' and `Version 2.0' and so I was totally unprepared and yet very impressed by the new musical avenues Garbage chose to explore with their third studio album `Beautiful Garage', which is an album of the absolute purest grungy pop quality and easily my favourite Garbage offering to date.
This record might not be an example of Garbage at their darkest, but listening closely to the lyrics of many of the songs on this album you can tell that it's easily the most melancholy (themes of depression, suicide etc) and yet when combined with such unique instrumentation, ... Read More:
