. The Odd Coupleby: Gnarls Barkley Release Date March 31, 2008 What an exceptional sophmore album! I had heard 'Run' on the radio many times, found it to be a really likeable piece of music, so i decided to give the album a chance. I was blown away! It exceeds any of my expectations, and has to be one of my albums of the year. It doesn't have the problem of St. Elsewhere in which one song overshadowed the rest, in fact in contrast I can honestly say that any song on the album could be released as singles, they are all THAT good! The album starts with the infectious beat of 'charity case', which is a simple song, instantly loveable with its twinkly rhythm. Will not appeal to those who expect more of the same (with respect to the signature track) or who are threatened by musical freedom of expression, which is evident here in many eclectic forms. |

. Crazyby: Gnarls Barkley Release Date April 03, 2006 This is one of the most refreshing new tunes I've heard for a long time. Great soul undertones and a fantastic voice, with a great danceable beat. The second I heard it I had to tell everyone in the car to shut up and turned the radio up, it took me a few times to hear the name of the artist correctly though. It reminds me of Basement Jaxx's "Good Luck" featuring Lisa Kekaula for some reason. We need more of this soul spirit. |
