[...]Seriously though, if you are a fan of Black Cherry and/or Felt Mountain (or even Goldfrapps latest offerings on Supernature) you will surely love this DVD.
A good handful of the tracks are previously unreleased and make the DVD worth the money just for that, but when you take into account that it's a double disk affair then how can you say no!? :)
From the idyllic tranquility of utopia and lovely head, to the rock chic stomping that can only be found with train and strict machine when performed live, this is by far the best live act I have seen in recent years.
[...]
If you like "Supernature", "Black Cherry", and "Seventh Tree", have "Felt Montain". Obviously it's the weakest out of the 4, though really relaxing and entres you into a total state of calm.

I'm not a fan of Goldfrapp or Black Cherry but I had to get this for the trippy video for the Blondie style Strict Machine. The Utopia live video track was good too.

The Pilots/Lovely Head single was the fifth and final release off Goldfrapp's stunning multi award-winning debut 'Felt Mountain'.
The single version of 'Pilots', which was renamed as 'Pilots (On A Star)' is absolutely beautiful. Alison's vocals are on top form as usual, very subtle and quiet and even hypnotising, layered on top of a lush, dreamy soundscape of strings and horns. As the song progresses, the vocals get ligher and at the end are taken to angelic heights as they softly fade into the music. The single mix is largley similar to the album version, bar the added sounds and instruments here and there, the faster pace of the song and the faded ending.
The next track is a remix of the album's first single and other A side, 'Lovely ... Read More:

I remember a former university housemate back in 2003 getting really excited about the then impending release of Goldfrapp's second album, Black Cherry. I'd never heard of them, not being a particularly large fan of so-called "chill-out" music... a term that had been used in connection with their first album, Felt Mountain, in almost every single related review. So, it was only after I saw the video for the first single from Black Cherry, Train, that I suddenly became interested in the alluring Ms. Goldfrapp and her musical partner, Will Gregory.
Black Cherry was a great album... managing to juggle the lulled ambience of songs like Deep Honey, Hairy Trees and that beautiful title track, alongside the more abrasive, glam-inspired dance ... Read More:
