The first album from The Goo Goo Dolls that I actually purchased, and I'm not disappointed. All fourteen songs on this album are amazing - even the new version of Name. Lyrically excellent songs which are catchy and addictive. If you like Iris, you'll love all the other songs on this collection, even if (like me) you'd never heard them before. Highly recommended!
Release Date October 01, 1999
Dizzy Up The Girl has an interesting mix of songs, from hits such as Iris, Black Balloon, Slide and Broadway - alongside soft, sentimental songs and raucous, upbeat, feel-good songs. Another album that shows the musical versatility of this long-standing group and the reason why they're still around more than 20 years after first getting together. I can thoroughly recommend this album to new and old fans alike.
Release Date August 25, 2008
As a fairly recent Goo Goo Dolls fan (before this year I'd only ever heard Iris!) I am stunned by this collection. I already have Greatest Hits Vol. 1, Dizzy Up The Girl and What I Learned About Ego, Opinion, Art & Commerce. I have to say that I was a bit nervous about hearing this collection of songs but having listened to it several times today, it's just amazing. It shows the brilliant versatility of a band that's been around for over 20 years and has grown and evolved into something very special. None of the songs sound like any of the others, there are raucous songs and soft, sentimental ones. There's really nothing to dislike about the whole collection. I was even pleasantly surprised by the demo version of Iris, so good to hear ... Read More:

First and foremost, this is no Dizzy Up The Girl and no Gutterflower.
Overall I was dissappointed with the album- There are a few pieces of gold in it, but you have to sieve through some rubbish to find them!
Maybe it's Robbie's voice (though this hasn't been a problem in the past) but whenever "Listen" or "Strange Love" appear on my iPod, I'm extremely quick to turn them over.
Thankfully, not all faith is lost and the album is saved by tracks like "Let Love In" and "Stay With You", reminding us why we love them in the first place! They are real easy listening.
Some real gems to be found, but as a whole nothing special at all.
Release Date April 22, 2002
This is the only Goo Goo Dolls album that I own but I have heard nearly all of their songs. This is a brilliant CD which shows a darker and angrier side of the Goos. It has tracks sung and written by Robby Takac as well, which is less usual for their songs. I've never heard anything like it.
Release Date June 30, 2008
An incredible live show from an incredible band, featuring most of their biggest songs - Iris, Naked, Cuz You're Gone, Slide, Name, Two Days In February.... they're pretty much all on here. The band perform each song to perfection and even if you have previously the heard the studio versions many times before these live tracks still manage to offer something fresh whilst still being instantly recognisable.
Live In Buffalo is worth every penny because not only is it a joy to listen to, it is also a 2 disc set - CD and DVD - meaning you can choose to watch the entire show or simply listen to it on your stereo. The sound quality is excellent on both discs and the DVD version of the show is very well dierected. The CD contains the studio version of Give ... Read More:

This album is another example of how The Goo Goo Dolls have grown and evolved over the last 20+ years in the music business. Lyrically and musically very impressive, this collection has songs from the early days as well as some of the more recent ones (up to 2001) and gives a good example of the incredible talents of this band. Just love it, there isn't much else for me to say except "I'm Addicted"!

....It doesn't say much for the film then (please check my review for the VHS version of that). This album does have some tracks that don't really suit the character of Batman like the opening one 'The Beggining Is The End' By The Smashing Pumpkins, but there are also some nice tracks that seem a bit closer to the lead character's theme such as R Kelly's 'Gotham City'. There is also a track dedicated to music from the film which is a bonus as there was never an official recorded score to the film (which is odd for these days). It's very cheap on this site so even if you don't like the film, I suggest getting this as it's a good CD.

All round good album... I'd say I liked almost all the tracks in this album equally and it's the kind of music you expect from the Goo Goo Dools. Unfortunately it was a little bit too much what you expect and it seems just a little bit like they've mastered a particular formula and are repeating it too well. That said, point for point (track for track) I still thought this was a better album than most of their previous ones.
Buy it if you're a fan. Buy it also if you haven't heard too many Goo Goo Dolls songs before but know a few that you like.
