There are 2 tracks on this CD, the first is pure chanting of prayer which eminates exceptionally strong vibrations and highly assists healing and meditation. The second track introduces instruments, which again increases the vibration during healings. Admittedly, I found it a bit strange to begin with, but working with it brings exceptional results and I am now reluctant to use anything else! If you are into healing techniques such as Reiki, this is an absolute "MUST HAVE" to use when you require stronger energy. (Would advise not to be used on first time clients!)

This C.D produces amazing sounds from authentic tibetan monk ceremonies. The depth of the human voice here is quite startling. However if, like me, your experinece of Tibetan sounds is more westernised (for example "Buddhist Chants and Peace Music") this C.D. does not make for easy or relaxing listening. The third track 'No. 2 For Gaia' performed by western musicians in response to and in keeping with the tibetan rituals is easier on the western ear. Would appeal more to practising Buddhists or those looking for accompanying 'ritual' music. Perhaps an acquired taste, but regretfully, not mine.

Glass - Philip on Film

I'm a big fan of Philip Glass and this collection has not disappointed in any way. I must confess that I hadn't realised how much film music he'd written, and I certainly haven't seen any of these films. In fact, despite having several of his other albums, I found this purely by chance because some of the music was featured on the Jim Carrey film 'The Truman Show'.

Some have said that Glass is not an ideal film score composer. They may be right. His music is not the kind that just fades into the background, as good film music should. It's a constant surge of repeated themes, growing and changing all the time. The orchestration is complex and you'll find something new each time you listen.
