The other reviewers have said it all, it's a fantastic album in every respect, and at this price it is a absolute steal !!!!!!

A different sort of Christmas album, Harry Connick's CD features the big band sound, strong drums throughout, large choruses in many songs--and Harry Connick. With toe-tapping rhythms and a casual, relaxed attitude prevailing, Connick presents many swingy versions of traditional songs and a number of quiet, soft ballads, accompanied by strings and chorales. Subtlety is not part of the pattern here--the music is, for the most part, bold, celebratory, and full of spirit--with the drums setting the beat and emphasizing the rhythms. The romance of the ballads is emphasized by violins and female choruses.
Throughout the album, Connick sets the pattern of the songs in the first stanza, retaining that pattern throughout, restraining himself ... Read More:

This is a stealth classic. If you loved "When My Heart..." You will ultimately come to adore this, but not straight away. This is a far more mature work and the arrangements are challenging to the listener (let alone the trumpets - sheesh! talk about supersonic). What's not to love about Frosty? That'll probably make you smile first time. But by the time you get to the ground-shifting be bop offering of "I Wonder As I Wander", you may be questioning your choice, but stick with it. Once you see where he's coming from you'll be playing this one into February and getting some really weird looks. Mr Connick flits from genre to genre tempting your taste buds with different flavours. I especially dig "Silver Bells": reminiscent of Bernstein and his New Orleans "Santa ... Read More:

This has me singing in the shower for almost 20 years. A friend had a copy at school and I kept singing the songs for years afterwards, finally caving in and realising I had to have a copy myself. If you like a good melody, treat yourself - I don't think you'll regret it.
The songs are mainly big band numbers with Harry soaring above in a playful, soulful one-man vocal party, although on a couple of tracks he contents himself with just tinkling on the ivories. His arrangements suit his voice perfectly, with the band giving it everything and before Harry's glorious, surging, crooning character takes over.
And I do feel, after listening to this album more times than I care to remember, that the thing that makes it special is that it's really ... Read More:

Fans of Rob Reiner's 1989 romantic comedy "When Harry Met Sally..." will tell you that this Harry Connick, Jr. album that's sold in the Movie Soundtrack section of most music emporiums (including online stores such as this) is not, in fact, from the original motion picture soundtrack. Instead, Columbia Records released this non-soundtrack as When Harry Met Sally...Music From the Motion Picture. Yes, the songs played and sung here by Connick were heard in the movie...but most of them were performed by other artists. This doesn't mean the album is bad; it's not. It just isn't an "original soundtrack album."
That having been said, this 10-track set is an enjoyable collection of romantic standards, some of them now over six decades old yet sounding timeless. ... Read More:

Yes thats what I did. I threw the CD out of the car window whilst travelling at 70 MPH. Only hope no one has the misfortune of picking it up and playing it. Why? Because Harry suceeded in murdering every single song. This must rate as one of the worst Cd's I've ever listened to. Its a load of self indulgent drivel conducted, arranged, orchestrated by Harry. Every song is slowed down, no variation.
Contemplating suicide, well don'f listed to this.it will push you over the edge. Even my mother-in-law thought it was dreadful and she an Enya fan!!!!!!

This is one of my favourite Harry Connick Jr albums I possess. He clearly relishes what he does as his vocal performance on here is top quality. His arrangements are pretty sharp too. He fuses his own songs with old jazz standards and brings them together in an excellent package.
It starts off at a gallop with the impressive 'Nowhere With Love' then continues in the same vein with 'Come By Me' and 'Charade' and finishes off with the wonderful rendition of 'Cry Me A River' and 'Love For Sale'. My favourites on here are the opening two tracks 'Nowhere With Love', 'Come By Me' and possibly 'Time After Time'.
Whenever I listen to this album, it brings a smile to my face and makes me feel good inside. All the arrangements and singing are great and it seems to ... Read More:
