In the past few months, Hypocrisy seem to have had a lot more media interest thrown their way, ever since blowing Dimmu borgir off stage in london, seems to have increased thier profile, at least to these eyes anyway, but with now nine studio albums into their career, this could be seen as a tad late!. still, it only makes "The Arrival" seem like a sensible direction to go in, after years developing their sound through their studio work, they have become a band that could easily fit any metal bill and as a result of their desire to keep pushing their sound in different directions, they have never sounded dated or tired. Hypocrisy Were one of those bands that had it all. But due to the mass marketing of the death metal labels at exactly the time they released this debut, they never made the running. Maybe thats a bit harsh. They certainly carved out a name for themselves in the death metal circles of Europe, and to a small extent the US too. I suppose I really mean that they missed out on World wide success the likes of which Morbid Angel, Obituary and their ilk had already assured themselves of. Even Nuclear Blast had its own pet bands that it seemed to push more than the rest. Gorefest were probably the best example. And so this couldn't have been a great thing for Hypocrisy.
Which is a shame because Hypocrisy play damn fine death metal.
On its release I personally ... Read More:

You will be hooked to this album as soon as you hear the intro! And then the first track kicks in to life and thing just get better and better. Abducted is one top quality piece of work! Roswell 47 is a classic track and the whole album just flows from one quality track to another. I've owned this album for about eight years now (it was originally released in 1996) and i still dont get bored of hearing it. A good addition to any album collection!
